“Alas, summer sun can’t last forever. The days will grow cooler and shorter, and our skin will once again pale.”

I try to keep up with the blog so that I have some sense of what day it is.
Day in-day out-it's all the same around here.
Time drags by, one day blurs into the next.
Very little changes.

“I drifted into a summer-nap under the hot shade of July, serenaded by a cicadae lullaby, to drowsy-warm dreams of distant thunder.” –Terri Guillemets

I tried not to wake up Heron, who I thought had the day off, but he was awake, anyway.
He did work today, he left at 8:44 am.

I took food out to my little stray, he was waiting on the ramp for me.
I'm glad he made it through the fireworks last night.

Earth’s rumble, our hearts tremble

I am shaking, I absolutely undeniably hate earthquakes!
9:07 pm Badger is in the pool, I'm in the she shed reading, suddenly a rumble starts, loud, and long, and as someone on our town Facebook page said, it was like our normal shakes on crack.
It lasted three times longer than normal, one lady said she didn't think it would ever end.
Badger hopped out of the pool like her britches were on fire, it shook the dang pool.

If July was a story, it would be written in the ink of sunshine and the joy of endless blue skies 📘☀️

I woke up at 7:20 am, but was lazy and laid in bed until 7:46 am, I think I may have actually cat napped a bit.

I got my stray fed, although I didn't see him, came in, took Turtle out to potty-the opposite way.
I didn't want my little stray traumatized by a giant dog.
