Always better to take down a weakened tree on your terms... rather than a storm deciding when it's time to come down

This turned into one heck of a long day.
I don’t know how it even happened, but Raven figured out his car absolutely wasn’t fixed.
Cowboy skipped church, and the part he needed was easier to find, so they headed to Jefferson City and picked it up.
They worked on that car all day, and it’s still not fixed.
Cowboy is stumped, and when he is stumped, you know it’s bad.

Your Wings Were Ready But My Heart Was Not

I can’t complain too much about today.
The weather turned out really spring-like and warm.
Raven and the kids were gone most of the day, which left me a quiet house.
I know that sounds awful, but it was nice.

No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat

Some people believe there’s no need to grieve over the loss of a cat, seeing them as just another animal.
But my cats are my babies who happen to be a bit furry.
I'm not handling Annie's death well, even though I knew it was coming.

Choosing peace over people-pleasing

We’ll make this short and maybe not so sweet.
I like him because he’s older and doesn’t use spray; instead, he uses a glue trap.
It’s just preventative since we don’t have bugs.

I’ll be going snow-where today

We woke up to a winter wonderland, which would’ve been amazing if we hadn’t been snowed in with a few extra guests at the house.
From the reports coming in, it’ll be impossible for Raven to get them home anytime soon.
The roads are beyond dangerous. 
We’ve got somewhere between five and seven inches of snow out there. 
The high temperature in Knoxville today was 25°.
I’m not in Knoxville, but they don’t give an official temperature for my area.

Keep calm and hate winter

Some things don’t belong on a public blog so I’ll just say today was a very bad day. 

The weather reports were already calling for major snow after dark.
I thought Raven's kids should stay where they were, but that wasn't what happened.

“Do you know why grandchildren are always so full of energy? They suck it out of their grandparents.”

We had an easy enough morning. 
Badger and I got Eins and Zwei up, fed, dressed, and out to the car while Cowboy ate breakfast, then fed the chickens.
 It was cold! 
I don't know what the temperature was, but it was cold. 
We had rain in our area, but from New Market to Jefferson City, it was snowing.
