I’ve been really pushing Badger to eat yogurt because I always thought it was gut‑friendly.
Isn’t there some kind of commercial pushing that idea?
Well, despite the two medications she is taking, she started having adverse reactions again.
I was blaming her new aloe vera mouthwash.
Hey, the stuff is nasty green, foamy, and reeks.
She had her GI appointment today and, oops, yogurt is bad for reflux.
Who knew?
Nurse J said she isn’t lactose intolerant, but her reflux can’t handle dairy products, so no yogurt, no cheese, no cow milk, no anything with dairy in it.
(Isn’t that still basically the same thing?)
Between the reflux and the migraines, she may as well just survive on air.
Now I’m scrambling to figure out what on earth to feed her.
While we were in Knoxville, we went to my favorite Amvet store.
It’s gone, and nobody seems to know where it went.
In its place is a church-run thrift store with astronomically high prices and a lot of antiques.
I mean serious antiques, not the 1960 or 1970 type either.
There go the .25¢ books we used to find there.
Finis had surgery today.
He’s OK, but Cowboy had to go from Knoxville straight to Jefferson City to feed his chickens. (Roughly a 41-mile trip)
That meant we got home just in time for him to head to work.
Luckily I made beef stew last night and made way too much of it, so we had plenty of leftovers, all I had to do was make fresh cornbread.
It felt like spring today, sunny and just pretty.
The air still had a bit of a bite, but Badger spent some time outside.
Lately, she’s been using her BB guns more than her guitar.
These new BB guns aren’t like the boys’, because they use CO₂ cartridges that run out quickly.
It can be frustrating to reset them, and she got pretty irritated with it today.
Heron came home today and went to feed his goldfish.
Badger and I broke the news to him that the algae eater killed his goldfish in July, and I had already sent him a text about it.
So he decided to poke the algae eater, and that booger is aggressive.
He charges.
I think Heron jumped a foot, although I did tell him it would jump at him.
I've never had an algae eater before, and this critter is creepy as heck.
It almost looks like a stingray, a mini stingray, and it's just ew creepy.
I toss him algae pellets and refill his tank and leave him alone the rest of the time.
I kind of expected it to have died before now.
I fully expect Peacock to come up this weekend and take his Roku home with him, so I’m going to go finish up ‘The Crown’ before he does.
It’s about Queen Elizabeth II.
All I really want to see is the coronation, and I can forget the rest.
My favorite Doctor Who actor is the one playing Prince Philip.
I want to say the actor is Matt Smith, but I know the face more than the name, which is why I started watching it.
