Another wet weather day

It rained heavily overnight, so this was a stay in kind of day.
It's just too nasty outside right now.

My yearly physical is over with no problems, or at least no problems until the blood work returns.
I had no trouble taking Badger in with me.
She didn't want to stay home alone, nor did she want to sit alone in the car.

I'm glad to take her because Doctor never has a nurse with him.
He examines me alone.
Maybe it's only a gynecologist that has to have a nurse present?
This was probably the most thorough exam I've ever gotten from the man.
He had a medical student with him, so he used me as a kind of teaching dummy.
He was not happy with my weight gain.
It has been a steady climb for the last two visits.
He's going to see how my thyroid is and if that is stable, then he'll schedule me an appointment with a dietitian.

He's really pushing the Covid-19 vaccine.
I'll ask Cowboy, and then if he wants to I'll put us on the waiting list.
If I can, I would prefer the Pfizer vaccine.
I'd prefer to not have it at all, but it looks as if we all will have to have it.

Cowboy has to return in two weeks.
He says it's because his doctor changed his potassium prescription.
I checked, and his summary doesn't say anything, so hopefully that is all it is.

We managed to schedule next year's annual appointment for the same day again.
We're part of a large practice, multiple doctors, so it's not always possible to get in on the same day.
Cowboy has got to where he hates driving down twice, especially if they make our appointments a day apart.

My doctor is 74 years old this year.
You can easily look him up online.
He's not the best there is out there, but I've been with him since 1997.
I'm hoping he doesn't decide to retire soon.

We had to make a quick trip to Jefferson City to pick up Cowboy's new prescription.
Badger decided to Google it, and I don't like the way this new pill sounds.
We weren't told, but the online information says no sweet potatoes, no spinach, and no bananas with this pill as it can raise the potassium levels dangerously high.
That is something he should have been made aware of, as he eats more bananas than a monkey.

We came home and quickly ate breakfast, since we both had to fast, ugh, and Cowboy was settling down for a nap when Heron dropped by.
He only stayed long enough to grab cuttings from all my bushes.
That boy has a green thumb.
Right now he has figs growing in his bedroom.

By the time he left, it was time for Cowboy to go to work.

After he left, I lay down and took a long nap.
I had to be up at 7 am.
Luci woke me up at 5:30 am howling to be let outside, and I never did fall back asleep.
I think it was close to 5:30 pm when I finally woke up.
At some point, Badger had crawled into the bed with me and was snoring happily.
She got up around 6 pm.

I attempted a quick walk around the block, but it's rather nippy out there.

Needless to say, we've mostly watched TV this evening.

I'm optimistic we're heading into a warm-up pattern weather-wise, so maybe tomorrow we can get outside.
