“It was September. In the last days when things are getting sad for no reason.” ― Ray Bradbury

These days I'm up by 7 am, rarely by 8 am.
We keep Fox out, as everything we've read on feline leukemia says that unnecessary stress can speed up the virus.
We figure that crating him at night, especially with the cold weather coming, and an unheated laundry room, probably isn't good for him.
In addition to that, cats with feline leukemia do not have a long life span.
There is no cure for this disease.
If we're lucky, he may live through the winter if we can keep on top of any sickness he may get.

Let him be spoiled.
Let him have his fuzzy blanket on his favorite shelf.
When Cowboy lights the propane heater, let him toast his toes in front of it.

But there is a downside.
Apparently he wants to be where the humans are, and he yowls all night long.
All-night-long.
I'm to the point where I may slap his butt in a box in my room and see how he does.
You know, hey dummy, we have a giant crate we take to the vet.
If he can't be a gentleman out of a crate, I may bring that in and let him sleep in a crate in my room.
He is fine once I get up and sit with him.
Maybe if he's in a crate, in my room, with me, he'll sleep.
That's how we kept him as a kitten.
It should be familiar to him.
Something to think of.
I need more than seven hours of sleep, apparently.
Most days I get so tired, I get a bit dizzy, which is very bad.

Usually I don't do anything.
Today I did a bit of housework.
There isn't very much to do these days if I keep up with the laundry and the kitchen.
The kitchen is the problem area.
I refuse to do dishes by hand nowadays, and my dishwasher can't keep up with our messes.

Cowboy and Badger were up at 10:30 am this morning.

With nothing to do, I did a little she shed sitting.
Unfortunately, it was downright cold out there!
The she-shed was way too cold, so I came in and went into my bedroom to watch TV under a blanket or two.

Badger sat with me.

I don't know what Cowboy got into all morning, other than sewing Badger's patches to her sleeves.
Maybe that kept him occupied a good while.

I emerged to help Badger with dinner.
Cowboy's been complaining that we've been starving him.
Pasta, pasta, pasta all the time and nothing else.
Yeah, we've been eating a lot of pasta, and I don't think one needs sides with pasta other than garlic bread.
Look, he’s not really starving.
Badger fixed spinach chicken alfredo (yes, more pasta), brussels sprouts, cheesy biscuits, and pizza bread.
Well, perhaps we were starving him since we had no leftovers.

Once Heron and Cowboy went to work, the rest of our day was spent, you guessed it, with the TV.
Mostly.
I'm reading a book series, and Badger sewed more patches on.
The TV was on, mostly for noise.
This old house is a bit creepy without any noise.

We took a reasonably decent walk this evening.
The sky was odd.
People were sharing pictures on our town Facebook page of brilliant orange skies.
Badger's picture, taken in our yard, showed a purple sky.
She went out later than the others, though.

We came home, took the dogs out to potty, and slapped a pizza in the oven.
Badger made “slutty brownies,” and we settled down to watch “Hocus Pocus 2.”

If you had never watched the first movie, it would have been a fun movie to watch.
However, having watched the first movie, I didn't find it to be as good.
Someone said that it was a very Disney movie with a very Disney ending, and I think that sums it up.
This YouTube generation of kids probably loved it.
It was campy, it was musical, and it was rather short.
I miss the old style of movie.
That's just my opinion.

I'm heading to bed.
I don't know why, though.
I'll be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow.
When one doesn't do anything but sit all day, that makes for a very long day.
