Rainy days: nature's way of saying "take a nap."

It poured rain today.
I’m not complaining, because it’s been ages since we had a real soaking rain.
Still, it came down so hard at times you couldn’t even see the car ahead.
Cowboy can’t see well when it’s sunny, so riding with him in that downpour was extra nerve‑wracking.

It took under five minutes to get Badger’s nose ring out, and the woman still charged $20.
It felt a little steep for something so quick.

After we finished that, we walked around downtown Morristown and stopped in a few shops.
By the time we got back to the car, it looked like we’d been through a car wash.
We were both dripping.

We stopped in at Goodwill.
Badger found some books, but the store’s been changed around too much.
They’ve cut back on the merchandise, too.

We stopped at Weigel’s because Badger was thirsty and wanted an ICEE.
Honestly, it feels like ICEEs are in her DNA.
When I was pregnant with her, I had morning sickness for nine months, and the only thing I craved, and the only thing I could keep down, was an
ICEE.

We came home, had some lunch, and all of us ended up napping.
We slept pretty late.
With the rain on the roof and Cowboy shutting off the air, it was cooler outside than it’s been in a while.

Not much else to say about today.
It was naps, books, and television.

Tomorrow, Cowboy will head to church, and Badger and I will probably just stay home and take it easy.

I’m not ready for bed yet, even though it’s getting close to midnight.
Maybe I’ll read or watch TV a while.
