Today felt anxious, with worry about a son traveling and a cousin having surgery.
My cousin’s surgery started with some worrying news, but thankfully, things improved.Recovery has been slower than expected, and she faced a serious complication-she’s still navigating a difficult recovery.
Even through everything, she managed to send me a brief text to let me know she was still here.
Her partner has been deeply concerned and supportive.
Heron anxiously embarked on his trip to Colorado.
Peacock said he texted him all day long, and I received a couple texts myself.
They made it safely to their layover in Texas, where Heron immediately relaxed with several beverages.
He said the flight wasn’t so bad, though he didn’t enjoy the landing or the takeoff very much.
The last I heard, they were preparing to board for the final leg of the journey.
I believe they spent about four hours in Texas.
Turtle-Myrtle is gone.
Peacock and Gealach picked her up late this afternoon.
I’ll miss the giant thing, but not her crack-of-dawn wake-up calls.
Cowboy went to Rural King alone this morning.
Badger was out back with Lady and Duffy this evening, came into the house:
“Come on, let’s be nosey-he’s got something plugged up again.”
So she and I moseyed down, following the extension cord-bright orange, hard to miss.
He either somehow sneaked baby chicks in from Rural King, or one of the hens gave birth-do they give birth?
I told Cousin I’d try to get down to see her, and I feel terrible-but Cowboy is supposed to work tomorrow.
Sunday is up in the air.
Of course, things change on a dime in that plant.
I’m ready for bed, or at least to go lose myself in Hawaii real estate.
