“Night and day. Summer and winter, boys. Seedtime and harvest. Life and death. That's what Halloween is, all rolled up in one.”

It’s 10:30 p.m., and another Halloween night is almost over.
For at least five years now, the evenings have just been quiet with nobody out at all.
We’re rural and a bit off the beaten path, but we used to get one or two trick‑or‑treaters.
Even when they skipped our street, you could hear them near the school.
Now it’s just silent.

Rainy day remedy: coffee and cozy

It was one of those windy, rainy days where you look outside and decide you’re not going anywhere.

Cowboy still went to Morristown to get his boots.

Badger and I stayed home.
We sure weren’t going out in that weather.

Is it really a home without something being broken? Asking for a friend.

It was 11 am when Cowboy finally crept out of bed this morning.
Some mornings he just cannot get started at all.

Of course, Badger and I had been up since around 7 am.
I played on the computer, but she went in and changed the cats’ litter.
With eight cats, that is one heck of a huge job.

Nothing Happened, and Everything Did

Seems like half the time, this blog is just me saying I don’t have anything to write.

Nothing happened.

I’m just putting words down so the day doesn’t slip away.

Or I’m just putting pen to paper so I don’t lose track of time.

I think I might’ve ended up giving this blog a theme without even trying.
