It made for a pretty miserable day.
Since 1 p.m., the temperature has dropped almost 20 degrees.
It’s just crazy weather.
I’ve got a busy day tomorrow.
We need to pay land taxes, pick up groceries, and I need to get an official picture I.D.
I didn’t realize it until I needed it, but my I.D. expired at the start of the month.
Most places will still take it since it’s not a driver’s license, but a few won’t.
That leaves me with an expired Dollywood pass as my only other picture I.D.
I don’t use it much, but I still need a current one.
I’m hoping they reuse the old picture. I don’t want a new one taken.
We need to go down to the Comcast service office.
I’ve got two broken cable boxes and a cable modem to turn in, and Badger needs a working box for her room.
Last Friday night, the fat orange cat fell into the fish tank and splashed water everywhere.
Gealach woke up Saturday morning wanting to watch “Caillou,” but the screen was completely black.
I spent all day trying to figure out why the TV wouldn’t show a signal.
The set powered on, but we couldn’t get any reception.
Gealach was having “Caillou” withdrawals.
Finis and his wife came down, and we decided to bring Badger’s TV in to see if the boxes would work with hers.
They didn’t.
So we knew it was the box, not the TV, just like Cowboy kept saying.
Apparently, Red got water into the box and fried it.
Big Red got called a few choice names over that.
We stole Badger’s box, and Cowboy and crew were back in business.
Unfortunately, Badger wasn’t, and she likes to fall asleep to the TV.
Have you ever been so mad you just wanted to punch something?
(Or someone.)
That’s me today.
The school is still up to its dirty tricks, and Badger cannot catch a break.
I emailed the advocate, but she wasn’t helpful, and I don’t expect any assistance from her.
Right now, we’re just trying to hang on and make it to May.
It feels like one step forward and six steps back, or damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
They say Badger doesn’t make an effort, but when she does, she gets a D.
I’m glad it’s not an F, but still.
Her Science Fair Board got a 70, and most of the deductions were nitpicky.
Her font was too small.
There’s no definition of “clean,” and she lost five points out of twenty on her graph, something a lot of kids didn’t even include.
That assignment counts as three test grades.
The research paper was a 55, and that one counts as six test‑grade scores.
She is allowed to give presentations only to the teacher, not in front of the class, and she is not supposed to be penalized for it.
I’m just… just ARGH!!
