never ever trust a fart!

We started our day bright and early.
The prep had to be done on a strict schedule from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
If you’ve ever had a colonoscopy, you know exactly what that means.
It is a little embarrassing for poor Badger, but it is what it is.

When I got to the third prep, I simply couldn’t figure it out.
I have a lot of nurses, CNAs, and moms of sick kids on my Facebook, so I yelled for help.
My cousin told me the third prep could be mixed with Gatorade, so Badger had to drink 48 oz of Gatorade and MiraLax in three hours.

Surprisingly, we had no problems there, and the prep works very quickly.
6 p.m. and 7 p.m. seemed like overkill to me, but we followed directions, so Badger still took them.
Her colon should be squeaky clean by tomorrow.

My nurse niece said the MiraLax amount alone was astounding and terrifying.
When she found out they also had her on two additional laxatives, she said it was just ridiculous.
I admit, I was scared to death we’d kill her.
But I followed their directions to the letter, and she seems to have survived.
She’s not happy, but she survived.

The hospital asked that she shower and shampoo before coming in.
I don’t remember getting that instruction the last time.
And because of her age, they do a pregnancy test on all their young ladies, their words.

She slept most of the day.
She’s on a clear liquid diet, and she flat‑out refuses to drink chicken broth, which might actually fill her up.
So I guess sleeping is as good a way to cope as any.

We had a pretty good storm come through, so I don’t think our temperatures got as hot as expected.
Even with the sizzling temperatures, there is a feeling of fall out there.
I hate to see the summer leave.

Other than playing nurse, I didn't do anything today.

I guess we'll head to bed.
It's going to be a long day tomorrow.
Her procedure is at 11 a.m., so I don't expect to be home before 2 p.m.
