Winter's paintbrush turns the world white 🎨🌍❄️

Okay, the meteorologist actually got it right, and we woke up to snow on the ground.
We had maybe an inch, and it kept falling as a fine, light snow until about 10 a.m.

The roads were clear this morning.
Raven came in from his night shift around 7, Heron left for his day shift at 9, and Cowboy headed out for his afternoon shift at 3.
That’s just how it goes here : everyone coming or going.

Needless to say, we stayed in and watched TV most of the day.

Badger and I had to go out and grab some snow pictures.
We don’t see it very often around here.
For her, it’s still kind of exciting.

I had to do Cowboy’s monthly test again.
The safety part was rough; way too many numbers.
But I nailed the medical documents section.

I got the bills paid and printed new insurance cards.

Badger made dinner, we ate, Cowboy went to work, and I spent the rest of the afternoon with a book and a movie.

My throat feels almost Covid‑like, but I am not sick, just a cough and sore throat.
Well, my head feels fuzzy, but that could be from lying in bed all afternoon, in the dark, with a movie and my tablet.
My books are on there too.

I’ve been sitting here for a while, and the heat sounds awful every time it kicks on.
I just hope it’s not about to quit.
It always seems to go out when we need it most.

The forecast says the temperature will drop into the teens tonight.
With the roads already wet, ice is almost certain by morning.
I don’t know if we’ll make it to the store, and I don’t know if Cowboy will make it home.
When the weather gets bad, the mountain boys try it when the weather’s bad.
If that happens, Cowboy will be stuck overnight, babysitting the boiler.

I think I’ll get off here and read for a bit.
A paper book this time, not the tablet.
I’ve had enough screen time today.
