“If today was a flavor it would taste like beige...”

This is a nothing‑to‑write, did‑not‑leave‑the‑house kind of day.
I really have nothing.
Cowboy works.
We sit.
That is our life in a nutshell.

Cowboy went to his doctor appointment.
His PSA is down, which is great.
His cholesterol has shot up a lot, though.

Raven made potato puffs to take to work with him.
I hope his co‑workers are kind.

He does not always catch on to things.
Sometimes misses social cues.
I have always suspected Raven might be autistic.
He and Badger share a lot of traits.

Raven said the doctor wants to get Vier tested to see if she is autistic.
She is showing a lot of red flags.
It is harder to tell in females, as we discovered with Badger.
The test they give is geared toward males.
Females present differently.
The medical profession wants to cram males and females into one giant box.
Autism does not work that way.

I told Raven that with all the talk about registries lately, I would be cautious.
Early diagnosis matters.
So does privacy.
It would be a disservice to Vier to delay, because she would miss out on early intervention.
But that registry idea scares me.

We’re supposed to have all four littles this weekend.
They need to get their Easter bags.
Raven said he’d try to have all four, but I don’t really see where “try” comes into it.
His arrangement is weekends with all four.
That’s the agreement.
Sure, it’s easier with just three, but that’s not the point.

Heron went fishing and did not get in until late.
You can tell spring has sprung when Heron hits the river.

Badger still hides out in her room most of the time, but tonight she sat through a whole movie with me. Turns out the magic combo is Roseanne Barr and Meryl Streep: who knew?

I’m calling it a night and picking up that book.
Tomorrow is town day. We do not need to go, but Cowboy has his routines.
