Turning coffee into productivity — it’s Sunday Get-it-Done-day

After Cowboy got home from morning services, we loaded the bags and headed into town.
We dropped them off at the donation center and then went to Lowe's.
I don't fully understand Cowboy's muttering, but I think the warming pen his chicks are in was about to fall down.
He bought a roll of wire to reinforce it anyway.

I had to buy a new antenna since both of the ones here were broken.
I stream most of my shows these days, but I still keep an antenna for the local channels.

Then we had to make a stop at Walmart.
Cowboy’s church was having finger foods after evening service, so we grabbed a deli tray for him to take.

We picked up dinner from Burger King, came home, and Cowboy put the new antenna on.
I made a big mistake buying this one, and it turned out to be an expensive mistake.
It’s basically a plastic square with almost no instructions, and from what I found online, it was probably missing the mounting tape.
Thankfully, Badger had some extra mounting tape, so Cowboy was able to get it on the wall.
I ended up having to move it to the window, which I really didn’t want to do.
The moisture from the glass ruins antennas, and it did with the last one.
It just would not work on the wall.

I bought it because the box claimed it could pick up channels from 45 miles away, but it pulls in fewer than my old antenna.
We have streaming services like Philo and Netflix, but I still like keeping up with the local news.
I don’t want a roof-mounted antenna, since Cowboy already has one hooked up to the living room TV.

After we ate, I finally sat down and looked online for a new weather forecaster.
I’d been putting it off, but today felt like the day.
The one I’ve got now came from my uncle, probably right around the time Mom died, and it’s been acting strange lately.
At this point, it feels like I’ve got a ghost living on my dresser.
Turns out the thing was first made in 2008, and they stopped supporting it in 2013.
And yet somehow it’s been giving us the temperature and forecast all this time.
Now I’m a little creeped out.
The whole thing has “Twilight Zone” written all over it.
And no, I sure won't be replacing it.
They make some pretty fancy ones now, but you have to put a sensor outside, and there’s nowhere near the bedroom to put one.
Badger told me I don’t need it anyway.
We have phones now.
But our phones won’t change colors when the temperature changes.

Evening services seemed to come around fast today.
Once he headed out, Badger and I ate our supper and settled in with our almost-western series.
It’s the one that gets me riled up every time, and I always end up yelling at the screen like it can hear me.

Cowboy got home at eight and wanted to watch the next episode.
He caught the last few minutes of the one we were finishing.
Badger wasn’t interested and went to her room.
I didn’t want her to miss anything, and rewinding is such a pain, so I told Cowboy to start back at episode one.
It doesn’t make sense to jump in at episode six anyway.
But he didn’t want to, so I said fine.

I’m heading to bed.
I don’t want to sit through it twice.
Besides, I’ve got a book I’m reading.

It feels strange going to bed without my pack.
Duffy is staying with Cowboy, and Heron took Lady to his girlfriend’s house.

I have antennas and a couple of Rokus. I dropped all of the streaming sites a couple of years ago. I rarely watch TV and it's a waste of money if you don't use them. I haven't heard of a weather sensor.

You had a quiet Sunday. I can't remember what I did on Sunday! I know it was laundry yesterday, Monday is always laundry day. Other that that I don't remember what may have gone on, other than a long phone conversation. Perhaps that was the whole day.

I'm sure you missed your pup squad. I miss my dogs, all of them. I miss having dogs. Cats have replaced dogs in my life and I have to admit they can be interesting.

Sandra: That makes sense about dropping the streaming sites. If you’re not really watching, they’re not worth the money. I’ve got a Roku TV and keep most of the streaming services since my daughter, who’s autistic, likes her comfort shows. They get plenty of use here.
The weather sensor is just a little device you set outside. It measures things like temperature and humidity and sends the info to a small display inside. My old weather forecaster didn’t need one, but the newer ones seem to.
Between the laundry on Monday and that long phone conversation on Sunday, it sounds like the days kept you busy in their own way.
I understand about missing your dogs. I’ve always been more of a cat person myself, but somehow I’ve also ended up with two granddogs living here. They’re a handful, but they do keep things interesting.
