The Only Thing We Have To Fear is Fear Itself. And Spiders.

Badger and I were up early this morning, just having a lazy Saturday and letting Cowboy sleep in.
We knew we needed to go to the camera store, but we thought we had plenty of time and figured it would be open later in the day.
Cowboy finally woke up close to 11 a.m., ate his breakfast, and asked what time the store closed.
I told him I had checked yesterday and was pretty sure it was 4 p.m.
When I double-checked, I found out they actually close at noon on Saturdays.
I don’t know how I missed that.

Cowboy finished breakfast in a hurry.
We told Badger to get ready fast and made sure the dogs were shut in the bedroom.
We hoped we could still make it, but with thirty minutes until closing and a forty-minute drive to Morristown, it wasn’t looking good.
By the time we got to Jefferson City, we knew it wasn’t happening.
So we told Badger we’d try again next Saturday, but we’d still stop at Five Below today.

We walked around Five Below, but Badger didn’t find anything she liked.
Then we headed over to FYE in the mall, and it has changed a lot since the last time we were there.
I honestly don’t even remember the last time we were in a mall.
It was probably before the pandemic.

We stopped by the new coffee shop, grabbed our drinks, and headed back to the car.
The coffee was a little watery and kind of disappointing.
Still, you never know about a place until you give it a try.

We made quick stops at Rural King and Lowe’s and still managed to be home by 3 p.m.

After supper, Badger and I went down to the RV to lock the cats in for the night.
Meep went missing, but we’re pretty sure she’s hiding under Heron’s bed.

We came back inside, and Cowboy was already napping in his recliner.
Badger headed on to her room, and I was about to sit at my computer when I noticed I had a package.
Cowboy must have brought it in while we were down at the RV.
It was my new bird feeder.
I unpacked it, grabbed the seed bucket, and went back outside to hang it in the tree by Badger’s window.
Since I was already out there, I went ahead and filled all the feeders.

I came back inside and was sitting at my desk when that creepy spider I’d been running from crawled out from under the lamp.
I really didn’t want to, but I pulled up my big girl panties and killed him.
His coloring was strange, and I was worried he might bite.
After what happened with Heron, I know how bad a spider bite can be.

Cowboy woke up with a snort at 6:30 p.m., swapped out the shower head, and settled back in his recliner.
We watched a movie about a baby found in a spaceship who gets powers by twelve and goes evil.
It was basically a “what if Superman went bad?” kind of story.

The movie’s over now, so I’m heading to bed to read a little before sleep.
