Hail woke us up around three this morning.
I jumped out of bed to check my windows.
It was hitting so hard, I thought for sure they would break.
Luckily, so far, we haven’t seen any more hail, and my windows survived.
I'm supposed to babysit Gealach tomorrow.
Where they’re doing construction at the church, it's red clay mud.
Badger and I bogged down in it today.
They're also laying pipe across the parking lot, so I don't know if we'll be able to walk there tomorrow or not.
I may have to have Cowboy leave for work a little early and let him drop us off at school, then we'll take the long way home.
I really wish Peacock could have had the day off.
Walking with a two-year-old in a place without sidewalks is hard.
Our little pathway—the grass is above Gealach's head.
It's to my waist, so I know she'll be lost in it, but I can't carry her.
She's just too heavy.
I'm hoping her mother puts her in something other than sandals.
More than likely she'll show up in a dress or shorts, and I'll have to put jeans on her to protect her little legs.
I have plenty of those, but no more footwear.
The birds have started a family under the eaves of my front porch.
They're driving me crazy with their constant squawking.
Every time we walk out the front door, we get swan-dived by an angry parent.
They do this every year, and every year Cowboy swears he's going to fix it so they can't wiggle up in there, but he hasn't got around to it yet.
We actually have quite the bird nursery going on.
They've made a nest in all four corners of my roof this year.
We nearly had a huge disaster today!
Badger walked back into the laundry room, and the cats had knocked my female guinea pig's cage off onto the floor.
I don't know how they managed it because it's pretty heavy.
She was on top of the male pig's cage, so fairly high up off the ground.
When Badger walked in, the cage had split open, bedding was everywhere, her hut was upside down, the cage was surrounded by cats, and Oreo Moo was huddled into a deep corner trying to be as small as she could.
Badger screamed for me.
I rushed in, snatched Moo up while Badger righted the cage.
Miraculously, she appears to be unharmed, although traumatized.
We've moved her into Badger's room.
She’ll have to stay on the floor.
It's the only safe place I can think of to put her, and I refuse to put her up on anything again.
