Just remember, once you’re over the hill you begin to pick up speed

Today was my 51st birthday.
We spent it quietly at home.

The microwave was my birthday present from Cowboy.
Badger gave me an Edgar Allan Poe coffee mug, which I absolutely love, and she also painted me a picture.

Heron came to visit, and he gave me the ingredients for a buttery nipple, a rose bush and two night shirts.

He said he wanted to replace my robe that my mom gave me.
Oh shoot, I don’t think Badger was even born when she gave it to me.

Luckily, he couldn’t find a robe, so he substituted the gowns.
I refuse to part from my old, comfy robe.

We shared two shots of buttery nipples, then he headed home.

Dinner was a steak, baked potatoes, broccoli with cheese, and birthday cake.

By the time dinner was over, it was time for Cowboy to go to work.

Peacock and J. came up and stayed until dark.

They insisted on toasting my birthday, so we had more buttery nipples.

They’re sweet and creamy, not extremely alcoholic, but I’m not a drinker, and three shots made me feel not so well, especially with the first two on an empty stomach.

After they left, Badger and I headed to bed for some movie watching.

As I said, I was feeling a bit off.

It was a nice birthday, not for the presents, but because I was able to see most of my kids.

Raven sent me a text to wish me a happy birthday.
SK and Zwei have the flu, and Drei has RSV, so they couldn’t come down.

We have to be up early in the morning for our appointment at H & R Block, so it’s earlier to bed tonight.
