“The cold is coming. December’s winter solstice. Start of the season.”

I didn't get up until 9:30 am, it's winter, I'm hibernating.
I didn't do anything, played on the computer.

Heron popped up at 10:30 am, with laundry.

“Some of the days in November carry the whole memory of summer as a fire opal carries the color of moon rise.” — Gladys Taber

Today was town day, and we stayed local.
I wish we hadn't as I could find nothing in the newly remodeled Walmart.
I don't mean that they were out of stuff, just that their aisle system doesn't make a lick of sense.
Wouldn't it be smart to give people a map?
I mean, the entire store has changed, help us out a little, man.

Living on caffeine and sleepless nights

The house is clean, the laundry caught up, I've done nothing all day.

I think I may be getting sick, maybe, possibly.

That is the downside of having school children living with you, you get every germ that snuggles up to them.

Guess who's back? Me, in all my homecoming glory!

The new dentist was much easier to find than anticipated, we ended up being thirty minutes too early.
That was alright, we just sat in the car, and watched traffic speed by.

We didn't have a wait at all, once we went in, they took us straight back.
They were friendly, gentle, and very considerate of Badger's feelings.

I Don't Feel Like Peopling Today

I'm not going to lie, today was one of my stay in bed with the TV kind of days.

I don't know what Cowboy got into, I don't know what Badger got into, and I don't know what Heron got into.

I still don't feel well, and I didn't feel like peopling today.

“Dear gourd! It’s September already.”

We made as quick of a trip to M as we could.
I had no problems getting a replacement cup, although they did not have a record of anyone turning the other cup in.
It was like a $10 cup, I don't guess they really cared that I may have been trying to scam them out of another one.

Seize every moment of August

Cowboy left here at 20 to 11 am and didn't get back until 1:20 pm.
Finis has places to go tomorrow, and Wednesday, too.

Badger and I have medical appointments coming up ourselves, I've told Cowboy that I will not change our appointments to accommodate Finis.
We did that all winter, and I'm done doing that.

Just give me a tent, a fire, a can of beans and I’m good

At 6:45 am my phone dings, I check it, and I have a package that was expected to be delivered by 9 am.
I quickly checked the hatchery web page, confirmed the numbers, got out of bed, and not so patiently waited until the post office opened at 8 a.m.
At 7:44 am, the post office calls for me to come pick up my live chicks, so I go in, poke Cowboy awake, and we hit the road.

August is always good for lazy days

I was lazy and slept in today, it was after 9 am when I stumbled out of bed.
Going by my Ring, my little stray was stomping back and forth, from the front yard to the side yard, wanting his breakfast.
He starts making his rounds about 5:30 am, and believe you me, I don't think I've ever fed that cat any earlier than 7 am.

So easy to fall into a rut, isn’t it?

I don't really have anything for today.

Cowboy's insurance kicked in yesterday, so I set up Badger a much-needed eye exam for next week, and found her a dentist that may not give her an infection.

Sizzling through the summer 🥵🌞

I have nothing.

Even with blogging every day, I still can't remember what day it is.
I had to ask Cowboy twice, just to be sure.
Of course, my brain is not all there, and I do not retain information.

It's hot, it's sticky, it's miserable, so we stayed inside today.

If you can't take the July heat, head for the air conditioning

I woke up around ten to eight this morning, had to use the bathroom.
As soon as I opened the bedroom door, I was knocked down by a giant, flying, ginger monster.
Lady.
She went over, and laid down on the rug by Cowboy's side of the bed, just like she belonged up here.
I went on to the bathroom, thinking that Heron had opened the door, let her in, and went on to the auto store.

These storms have sure brought a rain of terror to the roads

We woke up to thunder and rain, and it pretty much thundered, and rained until probably about 3 pm.
I only saw lightning maybe two or three times, but that thunder just roared until it rattled the windows.

I wasn't going to feed my stray this morning, I have no dry place to feed him, but he was high-stepping it in the rain around the house.
When a cat is goose-stepping in the rain, you know he must be hungry.

“Coffee and my kayak, all I need in the morning.”

I had to get up at 6:30 am to use the bathroom, I tried to reason with my bladder for another like hour of sleep, and it said nope.
I had just got snuggled into bed, was thinking about maybe another little cat nap or two, when I heard my front door pop open.
Heron decided this morning would be a great day to go kayaking.
What kind of nut goes kayaking before 7 am?!
My nut, apparently.

"Winter’s done, and April’s in the skies, Earth, look up with laughter in your eyes!"

I slept until 9 am this morning.
I had a terrible mess in the kitchen, I just didn't feel like tackling it Sunday or Monday.
Sometimes life is like that.
Luckily, the living room was alright.
I shut my eyes, and pretended I had a pristine house.
I mostly stayed online, reading my blogs all morning, until Cowboy got out of bed.

I was framed 👓

We were a bit early for my eye appointment, we weren't sure how weekend traffic would be.
Not very good, but we still made good time.
Cowboy was insisting that if I went in, they could get me done and out sooner.
Nope, does not work that way.
They get cranky if you're twenty minutes early, especially in a small office.
I waited until I was ten minutes early, and yes, they got me back fairly fast.

My last exam was 2019.

Blow, blow, thou winter wind

We did make it to the M. Walmart this morning.
We were pretty much in and out there.
We stopped in J.C. for gas, and chicken feed, and while Cowboy was buying chicken feed, Badger and I ran into the Goodwill.
