He said the area of N where his girlfriend lives didn’t see any damage.
It’s weird how one place may be perfectly fine, but just a mile or two down the road, it looks like a bomb went off.
As far as I know, they are living off the grid, so they don’t have running water or electricity.
They’re probably making it better than people who are used to having electricity, running water, and a working toilet.
I'm glad they weathered this storm and flooding well.
Of course, my heart breaks for their neighbors who did not.
Cowboy said they get a lot of their material from North Carolina, and of course North Carolina is a mess right now.
They say it may affect the factory where Cowboy works.
They can't get to North Carolina, and North Carolina can't get to them.
How this will impact their jobs, I don't know.
We went to Side Deck Neighbor's graveside service this morning.
They had a good turnout.
Let’s just say I didn’t realize Methodist services are a bit different from Baptist ones.
I thought all denominations were the same when it came to funerals.
Cowboy said you’re supposed to mourn when a baby’s born and celebrate when someone dies.
He said it’s because we’re born into sorrow, and we die into Paradise.
I get what he means, but I still think funerals should be quiet and respectful.

When I die, you cremate me, and shove me on the shelf beside Teresa the Cat.
And you do not put my death in the paper or on Facebook or let a damn soul know that I've crossed the River Styx.
No one calls me, or sends me a text, or visits me.
I don't need crocodile tears when I'm dead.
It’s been mostly TV and computer time, plus naps for Badger.
It's not exciting around here.
It's less exciting once the weather turns cold, then we become hibernating bears.
I'm going to get off of here, go watch the Vice Presidential debate.
Is this the first one like that?
I've never been interested in politics until the Great Orange One ticked me off.
Oh, and hey, Jimmy Carter turned 100 today.
He was always one of my favorite presidents.
I'm neither Democrat nor Republican.
I vote for whoever seems like the best candidate at the time.
