Feeling blue, but still pushing through

Up bright and early for Badger’s doctor appointment.
We thought that we were going in for her yearly exam, but the doctor told us that it was just a six-month follow-up.
He scheduled her for another appointment in August.
He did not explain why, and it slipped my mind to ask.
I didn't realize until we were checking out that he had scheduled another appointment for August, making that a three-month follow-up.
He was gone, so I couldn't ask why.

I would say it was her anemia, but he did not do labs.
At least he did not do labs until I told him he was supposed to be running an allergy test today.
He did not even examine her.
He asked a few questions about her medications, and when she told him her ears hurt, he examined them.
They want us to use some over‑the‑counter medicine.
If her ears are not better in August, he will send her to an ear, nose, and throat doctor.
He prescribed antibiotics for an ear infection, even though he said he could not tell if she had an infection or not.
Her eardrum was hidden.

That was a very odd appointment.
She has lost twelve pounds since November.
With her height, that is good.
Other than that, I have no clue why we even went.

Turns out my turn is Wednesday, not Thursday or Friday like I thought.
Same practice, different doctor.
We will see how mine goes.

Cowboy also goes Wednesday, just to get his blood drawn.
After hearing about President Biden’s diagnosis, I am a little more worried about Cowboy and what showed up in his blood test, and that mail‑in test that came back positive.

We made a quick stop at Food City for milk and walked out with a new wind chime, the kind that looks pretty but doesn’t actually chime.
We hung it behind Fred, although you can just barely see it.
And yes, a cinder block holds Fred up.
I got tired of going out every other day and picking Fred up off the ground.

We made it home at noon.

Raven was with the other parent.
Drei graduated Pre‑Kindergarten.
We were not invited.

Cowboy took care of his chickens and got his before‑work nap in.

Badger complained of a terrible headache and went to her room.
I cleaned up the kitchen.
When I am blue, housework does not get done, and the kitchen was a mess.
Badger can overlook a dirty kitchen.
She cleaned the house, but no one likes tackling the kitchen.
So I did it, then sat down at the computer.
You can get lost for hours online.
No thinking, just scrolling.

Time for Cowboy to go to work came quickly.

Badger and I checked on Heron’s cats.
They were still alive and kicking.
She got the wind chimes put up.
It is not fair to make a short person climb a tree, but she was the only one that was around.
When we came in, she headed to her room, and I headed to mine.

To be honest, I took a doggone nap.
After my nap, we had an early supper, watched a bit of a movie, and went out to sit on the she‑shed for a while.
It felt good out there and was pleasantly calm and quiet, give or take the stupid roosters.

We came back in, and Badger headed to her room.
I have spent the evening all alone.
I am not in the mood to watch TV or read, so I have been getting old blog entries back up.
Someday I will have all the abandoned blogs in one blog.

Another day over with.
Another day marked off.
Another day got through.
