I want to talk to people but the words just don't come out

Mrs O was at school today.
Progress reports were handed out, and she said that Badger still isn't talking.
Her report has all “Will not tell me.” on it.
She said that she knows Badger knows these things, but she just won't talk.
I don't know how we'll handle this or even what is going on.

I don't know what to do.
I haven't dealt with a child who only talks at home; she never talks outside the house.
With her brothers, the teachers were always begging me to make them shut up.
They were always talking.
But Badger is just very, very quiet.

I don't know what to do.

The dogs have been barking constantly lately, waking Cowboy up.
He swears it's the dog Peacock brought home.
So when the Humane Society opened up at 12 pm, we dropped poor Lizzie off with them.
I hated to do it, knowing they'll probably put her to sleep, but Cowboy insisted.
We had a giant form to fill out, and then they wanted a donation.
Well, we're flat broke, and all we could come up with was $2.
They kinda gave us a dirty look because you know Lizzie is a big dog, but we couldn't help it.
Cowboy said it's easier to dump a kid than it is an animal.
So Lizzie is gone, and if he keeps hearing dogs, then it's Heron's dang beagles or his dang fox hounds.

I'm about to fall asleep on my keyboard, but they're going hunting as soon as Cowboy gets off work, and I always like to be sure I put Badger in the van myself.
I just feel better tucking her in myself.
