This is what's going on in my world right now.
AH is going to be gone for a while, of her own doing, but not of her own choice.
The best-case scenario is that she'll be back by January 2017; the worst case it will be July 2017.
AH's mother is asking for custody, as is his biological father.
However, they've asked Raven to continue caring for him until January, just in case AH does get to come home.
Raven has raised J as his own from the moment he was born, so J is most comfortable and happy with Raven.
No matter the decision, no matter if AH gets to come home, Raven says he's done with the relationship, which means he loses J.
He has no rights to him, he's not the biological or adoptive father.
He has no way of gaining custody of him.
We are losing J. We have absolutely no rights to him. We're not his biological or legal grandparents.
So that's where we are right now. If you're a praying person, pray that the right decision is made for J. In the end, he's the one who suffers the most from poor decisions made by the adults in his life.
