Winter is here, weather you like it or not

We didn't know what to do with Annie last night, so Badger slept with her.

She did really well, as far as I know, but Lucifer woke me up at 5:30 am to go outside to pee and Annie climbed in bed with Cowboy and me.

She started scratching around.
I assumed she was making bread to go back to sleep, but something clicked in my sleep fogged mind that we hadn't shown her the litter boxes, and she hadn't gone since she left the shelter.

I yelled at Badger to come grab her and take her to the laundry room, where the litter boxes were.

At that point, I just thought showing her the litter box was a good idea because the bed was dry.

We locked her in the laundry room so that she could use the bathroom and eat if she chose, and went back to bed.

Now my house is freezing in the winter, so I have enough blankets on my bed to kill a mule, again, the bed felt dry.

So I settled myself in, got all toasty and comfy, and it felt like something was crawling on my ankle.
I slammed the sheet back and dadblast it, Annie had peed in the bed.

I don't know why it felt dry, it sure to heck wasn't.

So I yelled at Badger again, this time to grab me some dry clothes, and I hit the shower.

The best part?

Cowboy slept through it all.

I stripped the bed partially down, leaving him with a sheet and hoping the liquid was only on my side, and started a load of blankets going while Badger snuggled back up into her warm, dry bed.

Let me just say, starting my day before 7 am really, really stinks!

I don't fault Annie, though; we should have locked her in the laundry room last night, I just felt bad about doing it.

However, the cold laundry room is now her forever bedroom.

On the plus side, I got to see snow on the roof and car.

It snowed good for a little while, then it all melted away, although it has flurried the entire day, and it's been so cold!

Cowboy got a wild hair, after he had woken up and ate breakfast, to do a little running around.

We went to the Goodwill close to Peacock's house, nope, didn't go visit, although I would have liked to see Gealach.

He made it clear he wasn't wanting us to visit, his wifes's parents were coming.

We went to the Dollar Store; Cowboy needed batteries, the cheap kind is getting really hard to find everywhere.

We went to Rural King, Cowboy, and Badger both found good winter coats marked down dirt cheap.

We went to Walmart; Badger bought the cats a new ball toy, seeing that they enjoyed the Goodwill one so much.

Badger was wanting a bow, but bows and BB guns were gone, it's getting hard to find them also.

We came home, had lunch and Cowboy has slept the rest of the evening.

Badger and I just watched TV; it's too cold to be outside.

Annie is adjusting, not quickly and not well, but she'll get there I hope.

I'm getting off of here and going back to my TV.
