The house was cold as ice, so I wobbled back to bed.
Badger’s alarm woke me up at 8:30 am.
Do you know what it’s like to be yanked out of a sound sleep by “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”?
It’s effective, but not pleasant.
So far, though, that is the only alarm sound that will wake her and Cowboy up.
Today was iron day.
She took that and then settled back on the futon for a little nap.
I took Duffy out to pee.
It was gorgeous out!
It was so cold and the frost was heavy.
It looked like it had snowed.
I quickly took some food out to my stray, but I mixed up the dog food and the cat food.
I doubt if he got breakfast this morning.
He’s a snooty little thing.
Then I just played on the computer for a bit.
Heron popped up at 11 a.m. to get a cup of coffee.
I asked him if he’d please clean up the mess I made in the yard.
I put scraps out from Thanksgiving, thinking something would eat it.
No, nothing touched it, not even snooty stray, and it was meat!
I told him not to use bare hands just in case something did touch it, and darned if he didn’t use bare hands.
He and Cowboy like to disregard rabies and raccoon worms too much for my comfort.
It was almost noon before Cowboy crawled out.
I mean, by the time he showers, he gets to bed at 4 a.m., so he’s getting eight hours of sleep.
But he’s really not handling this shift.
After he ate, Cowboy played on his phone, took a little cat nap, and finally went out to take care of the chickens.
Badger disappeared into her room.
I just stayed on the computer.
There isn’t anything else to do.
The day passed very fast.
With Cowboy sleeping so late, that tends to happen more often than not.
He and Heron were heading to work before we knew it.
We watched TV until 4 p.m., then went on a quick walk down to the Methodist Church.
We were gonna head down to the creek, but someone had a car parked there.
So we just turned around and came back.
It was too cold for me anyway.
The rest of the evening we just watched TV and played on our phones and the computer.
November is here and our hibernating season has started.
We stay in when it’s cold.
Tomorrow is Cowboy’s last workday of the week.
Thursday is Badger’s dentist appointment, which means shopping gets shoved to Friday.
I really hate shopping on Fridays.
Other than that, I don’t think we’ve got a thing going on.
