"Accidentally stumbled into Friday like... 'Oh hey, weekend!' πŸ˜²πŸ•Ί"

I don’t know where my brain is.
I spent the day not even knowing what day it was.
Raven disappeared for a bit, for personal reasons, I assume.
That’s when it hit me: it was Friday.
I guess the quiet house and Raven dressed up should’ve tipped me off, because he doesn’t work Friday nights.
And, in my defense, as Badger says, the house is quiet: no littles, the cats and dogs are roaming free, and she’s doing laundry.
That never happens on a Friday.

Then we also went to Walmart today.
We filled out our taxes, but we were still at Walmart.
I mean, I know we went to town for groceries yesterday.
My brain just doesn’t function well these days.

Had I realized it was Friday, I would never have brought in our outdoor cameras to charge.
We did that too late for them to be charged and ready before it got completely dark.
Badger will not go to the backyard at night.

Luckily, Raven made it home just before 9 pm, and he got my outside cameras up for me.
I’m glad of that, because I don’t like not having all the outside cameras up.
If nothing else, I like to make sure Heron makes it home safely.
Tonight is a double shift night.

It was already dark when I realized we still had to go put Heron’s cats inside.
Neither Badger nor I like going into that spooky, dark RV at night.
I really don’t see how Heron lives down there. I guess to him, it’s just home.

There was a rumble just before 8.
I’m guessing the mines.
At least it wasn’t a window‑shaker.

This all feels a little jumbled, but eh- it works.

We stopped at Goodwill today, and I found a brand‑new sweater, with the tags still on it, for $7.99.
Originally, it was $89, then marked down to $53.
I looked up the brand, and it came from Dillard’s.
You can tell this thing has never been on a human, or a haint, either.
Of course, I washed it, and it survived.

That was a lucky find, because Badger made plans for my birthday tomorrow and told me to dress like a real human.
I’m not really sure what sort of human I normally dress like.
Cowboy says I look rather scruffy

I don’t know why she’s suddenly decided to make a big deal of my birthday.
We’ve never made a big deal of it, but I am grateful to her.

I know we are going to Pigeon Forge, so maybe the Titanic again, or maybe we’ll just walk around The Island.

She wanted to take me to Red Lobster for dinner.
I’ve never been, and I’ve always wanted to go.
I checked their menu, and honestly, they don’t really have much.
She and Cowboy are not seafood lovers.

One thing I can say about my Mom and Aunt GG is that they both loved seafood and taught me to enjoy it as well.
It seemed that only four of us ate it: BB, GG, Mom, and me.

So, OK, Google: seafood restaurants in Pigeon Forge.
Harpoon Harry’s comes up.
They have lobster mac ’n cheese, and I’ve always wanted to try that.
But, and it’s a big one, they charge you to use a card, and one fellow said his bill ended up being $200.
Well, I’m cheap.
That’s a nope.

I know that Pigeon Forge is expensive, that’s a given.
I’m fairly sure I didn’t pay that much at The Island to eat, though.
That was four people, and booze.

So, Badger reminded me of Mel’s Diner.
I’d forgotten all about that place.
No seafood, maybe catfish, but no big deal.
They had the best meatloaf I’ve tasted.
I checked the menu over.
Badger and I like to plan ahead.
I’m going with a chicken salad sandwich and a chanana shake.
That’s going to be fun to order.

As Badger says, it's my birthday.
The dinner choice is mine.

Heron handed me my birthday present.
He gave me one yesterday.
He asked if I like steamy books, and I told him no, but he’d already bought this one.
Well, as it turns out, my book group had been talking about it, and I actually wanted to read it.
That was luck.
I guess the poor thing thought I wasn’t happy with it.
He said he spent hours at Barnes & Noble trying to find me an end‑of‑the‑world book.
Which he did, and it’s also one I’ve been wanting to read.
He’s a thoughtful booger.

Mind you, Badger is also a thoughtful booger.
She’s planned this whole day for me, and she tried to get her brothers on board.
Peacock and Heron have to work.
Raven is iffy.

I think I’m chattered out. Maybe. Possibly.
