Taco cravings: activated

Badger planned to bring home Taco Bell after therapy, but her appointment was canceled at the last minute.
That left us in a lurch for dinner since nothing was thawed.

Cowboy went out, mowed the yard, then came in and told us to get in the car.
I guess while zipping around the yard, he had time to think about what “nothing thawed” really meant.
I imagine he wasn’t looking forward to canned soup today.
We ended up at Taco Bell anyway.

It sounds odd, but Taco Bell had chili, and it was surprisingly good.
I don’t think it’s a permanent menu item, but it should be.

Other than that quick run, it’s been a sit-around kind of day.

Cowboy’s working, of course, but Badger and I are confirmed couch potatoes.

I can say it until I’m blue in the face: there just isn’t much to do around here.

  1. I have plenty to do, not the motivation to do the doing. As far as anything other than work, there is nothing for me to do around here either. Tacos are good. There was a Taco Bell out here in the 90s but it's been gone for a couple of decades. I periodically make them. It's a good thing Cowboy had time to think while he mowed.

  2. Sandra: Some days, motivation is hard to come by.
My daughter keeps trying to shove hobbies at me, but I just lack the patience for them.
Tacos are amazing, my daughter makes them quite often, much to my husband's disgust 😉
No Taco Bell? I don't think you can go more than five miles in this area without hitting one.
What kind of fast food places do you have where you are?

  3. There is a Subway in the small village close to us. There is also a meat market/deli. In a larger small town about 6 miles away is a Culvers, Jimmy Johns and McDonalds. We occasionally will get something from Culvers but normally we don't eat fast food. Not for many years. Oh, in the larger town there is also a Papa Murphy's Pizza.

    1. Sandra: Sounds like you’ve got a nice mix of options nearby, from Subway and the meat market to Culvers and Papa Murphy’s.
Depending on where we want to go, it’s either 12 miles or 22 miles to get to a restaurant. Around me, the three larger towns are college towns, so there are tons of choices for both fast food and sit-down restaurants. Plus—my favorite—a bunch of coffee shops!
