Weekends: Family Edition

The noise began well before 7 am.
I woke up, turned on the air purifier and my fan, both loud enough to drown it out, and went back to bed.
It's nearly always Drei who wakes up before the chickens, and he's the one you really don't want roaming without supervision.

All five of them moved to the living room at 7 am.
I did tell Raven to take them to the living room and turn a movie on when they woke up.
It only helped the noise a little bit.

Badger and I were up at 7:30 am.
She went in and put Raven’s clothes on to dry, grabbed some breakfast, and ate.
When the dryer finally shut off, she went back in, yanked everything out, angrily stuffed it all in a basket, and dropped it in front of his door.
By 8:30 am we were out the door and headed to go bird watching.

Two of the neighbors were having yard sales, so we only went to the senior citizen center.
We turned around and went over to the school.
We didn’t go past the goat field, though.
We had two new bird sightings: a bunch of goldfinches at the field in front of the senior citizen center, and a thrasher at the old abandoned diner.

Badger and I got back at 9:30 am, Cowboy was awake in his recliner.
Badger headed to her room, and I sat down to play on the computer for a bit.
Eventually Cowboy headed outside; today was chicken coop cleaning day.
Raven took the kids for a walk, came home, loaded everyone in the car, and disappeared at noon.

Badger and I headed to the kitchen and got the breakfast dishes into the dishwasher.
She said she wasn’t feeling well, so she went to her room and stayed there.
I enjoyed the quiet house and played on the computer for a bit.

Cowboy finally got done with his chickens just after 3 pm, and we headed to Dandridge.
Badger has lost so much weight she has nothing to wear.
We tried the Goodwill, but they have nothing anymore.
We ended up in Jefferson City at the Walmart.
We found her two pairs of pants.

We came home, and Badger and I had a late lunch or an early supper, whichever it was.
We went in my room and watched “The X-Files” until Raven got back.
They got back a little after 6 pm.
His car brakes went out on him as he pulled in the drive.

So, he and Cowboy went out to find the part he needed.
His car is so old, a 2001 model, that they could only find a place in Knoxville that carried it.

I turned a movie on, set the kids on the couch, and told them they weren't moving until daddy got home.
They weren’t happy; they fussed, but they sat.
Then Raven and Cowboy got home, and they still had to sit because they couldn't be outside in the way while they worked on the car.
They really weren’t happy about that.

Cowboy and Raven worked on the car until well after 11 pm.
It may be fixed, they're hoping it's fixed.
It was a hard job because the area that needed fixing was in an inconvenient place and hard to reach.

I sat with the kids until Eins and Drei fell asleep.
I sleep‑walked them to their bed and then waited until Vier fell asleep on the couch. I headed to my room and put on “The X‑Files.”
Zwei is a tablet zombie; he’s not going to do anything.

I’ll clean this up when I’m able.
Blogging on a tablet kind of stinks.
