It was quite a moment—and I get teary-eyed just thinking about it.
We got to spend a little time with him before handing him over to Uncle Sam, but we couldn’t stay to see him off on the bus.
Husband couldn’t get off work.

The bus was scheduled to leave around 1 PM EST and should arrive at Fort Benning, Georgia around 8 PM.
The recruiter said he’ll be allowed to call once he gets on base—and then I won’t hear anything else for a while.
He seemed in good spirits: excited, but tired of all the waiting around.
I hope things get easier.
