Colonoscopy: preventative, proactive, priceless

We made it home safely just before 4 p.m.
The procedure went well.
Cowboy was taken back at about 12 p.m., and we were in the recovery room by about 1:15 p.m.They found a couple of little things that looked harmless and went ahead and removed them.
We’ll get the official word in a week or two, but the doctor seemed very reassuring.
I think that means Cowboy’s done with the mail-in test now, or maybe this just takes its place.

We stopped at Austin’s for supper.
Cowboy woke up in the recovery room murmuring about being starving and how we were heading to Austin’s.
Can’t blame him, we did kind of starve him.

Austin's is a buffet, so there was something for all three of us to enjoy.

On the way home, we stopped at Taziki's and picked up Badger a gyro-she'd stayed home.

Today is Raven’s birthday, and I thought about getting him something.
He texted that he’d be at his former partner’s overnight.
Still, I left a card and a cupcake before we went to the doctor’s.

Once we got home, the evening moved slowly, and peacefully.
Cowboy has strict orders to rest, so he’s spent it in the recliner, dozing and watching his shows.

We walked into a clean house, Badger even did the laundry while we were gone.
I really appreciated that.
I mostly just read all evening.
Badger and Heron popped in and out, doing their own thing.

Badger and I took a tiny walk, and on the way back home we saw a pit bull and a hound‑type dog on the pathway.
One of the area’s feral cats was sitting in Farmer’s Daughter’s field, and that pit bull was barreling toward it.
Badger ran down and tossed a few rocks to scare it off.
The hound was heading toward her, so I hustled down and yelled at them to get back across that track. Luckily, they did.

I posted on the town Facebook page about the loose dogs, said I was done tiptoeing and would start using deterrents if needed.
The comments lit up fast, and they’re still coming.
It’s a risk, and no one’s stepping up to take responsibility.

It’s been a long day. I’m heading on to bed.
Cowboy slept fitfully last night, and he and I were up super early this morning.
Sleep sounds amazing right now.
