A cool morning and a big cup of coffee = a good day

First day back to school and what does it do?
Yup, it pours down.
OK, it did stop by 3 p.m., but the wind was a whipping and it was cold.
Well, maybe not cold-cold, but it sure wasn't shorts and t-shirt weather.
I was a shivering, which actually isn't that unusual for me if the temps drop below 60°.
Luckily, my little snail managed to get her butt out of the school fairly quick this evening.
I think she was ready to go home and chill a bit.

We were up until after midnight last night playing with a chubby‑cheeked 6‑month‑old.
Or at least Cowboy and I were.
Badger hid under the blankets and tried to ignore us.
Raven's newest girlfriend has a baby, and they came down to see Raven.
Then the little thing is teething, so she fussed for a while, which we could clearly hear behind closed doors.
 I finally fell asleep.
It's just weird hearing a baby in the house again.
I think Raven said girlfriend and baby left at 2 a.m.

Badger finally figured out her Halloween costume.
She's going to be a serial killer.
I blame her brothers for her morbidness.
I tried to get her to go as a cereal killer.
I found a bunch of funny costumes, but nope, no go.
I think she's a bit confused, though.
She's going out in camouflage.
When I think of serial killer, I think black.
Whatever floats her boat, I guess.
She wanted a Jason mask, I think, the white hockey mask and a knife.
I found the perfect knife at Walmart.
Remember those doll baby bottles that had disappearing liquid in them?
I found a knife and a machete that had blood in them.
It doesn't disappear, though, it just sort of squishes around inside.
Pretty cool.

Heron roamed off, so it was just me and Badger again.
It was too wet to be outside, so we stayed in with a pizza and “Nightmare Before Christmas.”
We all just love that movie.

Peacock keeps posting “Nightmare Before Christmas” wedding cakes on his Facebook, and I have a sinking suspicion he may actually have one.
AF is as crazy for it as he is.
He also posted a bedroom set with “Nightmare Before Christmas” the sheets and curtains and such.
I don't know if that would be for L. or for the new baby.
I never could find what they posted, but I ended up on eBay, and there is a ton of stuff over there.
When and if we ever get Badger into her own room, I know what her theme will be.

It's definitely going to be an early night for me tonight.
I'm getting too old to be up all night.
My eyes keep drooping shut.
I guess I'm off here to toss the kid into the tub and then head to bed.
