"Time dances on, never missing a beat."

How are we already over halfway through June?
Where is the time going?

School starts August 7th here.
That'll be here before you know it, and then we'll be back in those nasty, dark cold months.

Good grief.

“The Longest Day, the Warmest Hearts: Celebrating Fathers Beneath the Summer Sun”

I'm just going to make a short, “let's remember the basics of today” kind of post.

Today is Father's Day.
This is one holiday I never had any reason to celebrate.
I've never had a father.

the name of father was another name for love

“Love is not about changing someone; it's about accepting them for who they are and standing by their side through it all.”

If we make it through this stage of life, it might just be a miracle.
I’m doing my best to stay understanding.
At 66, plenty of people have already retired, and those still working usually aren’t pulling third shifts in a factory.

My mouth runs faster than sweet tea on a hot July day

Every once in a blue moon I choose not to be a chatty Southerner.

I was up at 6 am taking an oversized dog on a walk around in a circle from our house to the wooded fields back to our house.
Turtle may be an old dog, but she still enjoys her walks.

I am 90% caffeine, 10% spite

Town day went the way town days usually do, except a bit more rushed.
We had all the time in the world, or at least until 2 p.m., but Cowboy zipped us through the store like a nest of wasps was on his rear end.
I told him if he keeps that up, I’m going to start having groceries delivered.

Waiting… still waiting… 🐌

Another hot and humid day.
That's just June in Tennessee.

After she ate breakfast, Badger disappeared outside to chase birds.
I didn't think she was having much luck, so I told her we'd walk down to the library.
With a bit of luck, maybe she’d spot the finches, the egret, or our ducks.

Promoted to Late-Shift Limbo. Three schedule flips since May. He didn’t get a promotion—he got a time machine. 🕒🌀

There's a saying in these parts, it ain't the heat, it's the humidity.
Today was particularly humid.
Actually, Sunday and Monday were also humid.
