"What would you do if you were stuck in one place and every day was exactly the same, and nothing that you did mattered?"

Do you ever wake up, climb out of bed, and see the day stretching out before you exactly like the day before and the day before that and the day before that?

You go: nope, not doing this today, and just go back to bed.

July's really bringing the heat

It was 97° with a feels-like temperature in the 100s.
I thought we were going to get a break from the heat tonight, it started rumbling thunder, and there were a few drops of rain.
But the storm dissipated.
It's been lightning all night, but nothing's come of that either.

Too hot ☀️🔥

Cowboy got home at 5 a.m., so he slept until 11 a.m.
That meant we got on the road to town closer to noon.

It was miserable when I walked outside at 7 am, and by noon it was beyond miserable.

Identity, Heritage, and Respect

I may ruffle a few feathers with this, but I need to say it straight.

Over the past several years, a lot of people have moved down here from up North and out West.
Tennessee and the surrounding states keep growing, and most of us don’t mind that.
We’re a welcoming people.
We always have been.

The heat index is somewhere between OMG and WTF. 🥵

Another 95° day, with a feels‑like temperature in the 100s.

I was up early, but it was already getting miserably hot.

I managed to get around 30‑gallon bags of squash and okra cut up and put in the freezer.
