Facing the reality of increasing grocery prices πŸ›’πŸ’Έ"

Another town day over and done with.

Our first stop was the thrift store, I do not know why we even bother.
They will post pictures of new items on Wednesday evening, you see something you'd like, go on Thursday morning, and it's already gone.
It happens every time.

Walmart for our weekly groceries.
I'm seeing more masks lately, usually the three of us are the lone ducks in masks.
Our school system is out until Monday for illness, they can't find enough substitute teachers to teach.
I hate still wearing a mask, and sticking out like a sore thumb, but have y'all been keeping up with the health news?
A TB outbreak in Kansas, the bird flu outbreak keeps spreading, good old normal flu is going around.
I guess I'll just keep sticking out like a sore thumb, although Badger is going to have to start learning how to make masks.
Even Etsy is starting to no longer sell them.

For now, we are doing alright financially, could be better, but could be worse.
Cowboy was having a bit of a fit at how expensive groceries are now, how everything has gone up.
To be honest, there are food items I enjoy, that I no longer buy because of the expense.
Things like Cream of Wheat, not junk food, not luxury items.

I don't really have anything else-our days are basically all the same.

Cowboy goes to work at 2:30 pm, leaving us pretty well stranded.
Even if Badger ever does get more experience driving, the price of gas is also increasing.
I mean, us blue collar families are starting to feel a bit of a pinch.

Mostly, Badger is in her room all the time now.
She's finally reached that age where she's sick of living here, sick of being around us, but is a bit stuck.

I'm mostly at the computer, I can find things to read, or games to play.
Occasionally, the cats and I wander in my bedroom to read or watch TV

Raven will be either asleep or out roaming.

Heron's work shift is wonky, that's all I can say.
He has Sunday and Mondays off, usually he gets home around 5 pm, but some days he works double shifts.
I think he tries to pick up as many shifts as he can, he's still wanting to move in the compound with his girlfriend.
He's the baby of the boys, somehow Peacock and Heron picked up on their Dad's work ethic, and thrifty ways.
Tonight he was supposed to get a cat exercise wheel after work, he was so excited.

The darn Marketplace lady ghosted him, he was disappointed.
He should have known she was a scam, though.
She was asking $50, and these things do not go that low, even used.
So, he's hanging out in K. with buddies.

We don't see Peacock very often, which means we also don't see Gealach.
P is married, and has a wonderful job with UT.
I miss my first baby, but understand.

I sent Heron a text, told him to fix the trap to where nothing could be trapped in it-when he got home.
The black cat was back, he was sticking his paw between the wire, dipping in the food animal control left, and licking it off of his paw.
I didn't want him getting his paw trapped, freaking out, and killing himself.
Cowboy said that's how 'coons do, also. 🦝
Lamont is too smart for a trap.

I guess I'll be heading to bed.
Tomorrow is hide everything day again.
We go through this every single Friday.
