Just chasing snowflakes ❄️☃️

The snow began here around noon.

Raven had stopped at the store on the way home from work, and Cowboy was taking the trash off.
They both had hoped to beat the snow home, but the sidewalk was starting to turn white by the time they turned in the driveway.

The snow started in Knoxville around 11 pm, Heron was at work and sent me a picture.
He sent me a text at noon, saying the bar was closing down, and he was heading home.

By the time he made it home, the snow was falling steadily here.

Cowboy had his work bag packed, he's prepared to spend the night at the plant, and then he took a nap.

I made a very quick dinner, in case he needed to go in before 2:30 pm.
He probably should have gone in earlier, but he ate and went in at regular time.

It's unusual for us here to see a snow you can actually play in.
This is the second year we've had a playable snow, though, so that pattern may be breaking.

Badger took the dogs outside, Duffy was not impressed, but he's low to the ground.
Lady had a blast!

Then she and I bundled up, and we walked down to the Methodist.
Well, we stopped at the Presbyterian Prayer Garden, I was afraid to go much farther than that.
People were out sledding, behind the church, and I heard dogs bark.
It’s definitely not the kind of snow for trying to outrun anything with four legs.
It's not slick, though.
I guess it's a dry snow, maybe.
I'm not sure how to properly describe the snow; I guess it's powdery.

Badger had a lot of fun taking pictures of me.

We saw a snow plow go through, that is very, very uncommon.
Last year was the first time since we moved down here in 1995 that the county plowed when it snowed.
Before that, snow meant you weren’t going anywhere.

Some guy in a bobcat was scraping the road in front of my house.
That's a first.
I don't know where the heck he came from.
Badger said one of our fed-up neighbors must’ve gotten tired of slipping and sliding, since they don’t salt or plow the neighborhoods.

We came home, got into dry clothes, Badger made us some hot chocolate, and then she disappeared into her room.
Probably snuggled up with her blanket.

I curled up at my desk under my fuzzy blanket.

The day passed surprisingly fast; supper time came before we knew it.

We ate supper, watched a movie, and then Badger decided to rearrange my kitchen.
I’m staying out of her way, she gets cranky if the kitchen isn’t a certain way.

Cowboy called said the roads were slick going in, and he sure as heck isn’t trying to make it home in the dark.
Nothing surprising there; he rarely tries to get home if it snows.

I'm finishing this up and going to go curl up under a million blankets, read my book.
Badger seems rather happy alone in the kitchen.
