"I regret nothing! (Said with a heavy sigh and unbuttoned pants)."

Badger's three-month check-up was this morning.
Because of the medication she's on, she has to have frequent check-ups.

I nearly messed up.
I got to jabbering with Heron and talking to the cat rescue about Smudge, and I lost track of time.
It was well past when we should have left the house before I realized it wasn’t a stay‑home day.
Cowboy’s alarm didn’t go off either.

We left the house much later than we should have, but thank goodness traffic was light, and we made it a little early.
We went on in, and they actually took us back quickly.
The doctor came in just as quickly, and it was basically wham, bam, thank you, ma'am, see you in June or July, one of the hot months.

We stopped at the Walmart out on the road from the doctor’s office because there were a few things we couldn’t wait until tomorrow to pick up.

We hadn't eaten yet, and it was 11 a.m., so we stopped at Austin's Steak & Homestyle Buffet.
Their buffet gives us all something to choose from, and to be honest, they have the cleanest bathroom I've seen in Knoxville.

We came home, and I don’t know about Badger, but Cowboy and I went straight to sleep.
Well, I got a cup of coffee first, then I went straight to sleep.
Cowboy woke me up, kissing me goodbye before he went to work.

Once I woke up, Badger and I tried to take a quick walk, just to shake the cobwebs out.
We got up the hill toward the wolf dog lady’s house, and a beagle was staring at us.
I still say it was good Dixie, but Badger says it was bad Max.
We didn’t want to risk getting bitten, so we just came back home.

After we got home, we spent the evening watching a documentary, or maybe a few documentaries, I’m still not sure, on Sitting Bull.
I’ve learned to just go along with Badger’s TV choices.
When something grabs her attention, she likes to spend the evening learning more about it.
I’m still learning right along with her, even at my age.

So the rescue came through with money for Smudge’s medicine.
I don’t have Venmo or PayPal, so she put the money in Heron’s account.
I was too sleepy to order it tonight, and I told him we’d get it tomorrow and give her the receipt.
He’s going to put it on his credit card just in case it’s a scam.
I don’t think it is, because the rescue uses it all the time, but the website is pretty sketchy, and as far as I understand, the medicine isn’t approved in the United States.

Tomorrow is town day, our last town day of February.
This month has flown by, but that’s how February usually does.
Now we just need to get through March and at least the first two weeks of April, and we should settle into a warm weather pattern.
I'm looking forward to that.
More walks, more sun, less TV.

I'm heading to bed.
