Today has been hot!
We came close to breaking a record set in 1907.
That was even before my grandmother was born.
It made it up to 84°.
The record was 87°.
I sure wasn’t complaining.
I’m a fat old lizard.
I like the heat, to a point.
After Cowboy came home from morning services, we headed up to Morristown to Aldi.
It was pure luck that we had decided to go today.
I looked at my phone, and it was screaming that I needed to add minutes.
So we stopped at Walmart to pick up a prepaid refill card.
You used to be able to buy those anywhere, but Verizon bought Straight Talk out, and now you can only buy them at Walmart.
Sometimes that’s an inconvenience.
It was also luck in that my doctor called in my hive medication, and it was ready for pickup.
I still haven’t used up the last refill I bought.
I’m surprised he called the refill in, but I’m not going to question him.
Knock on wood this medication is stopping the hives, or I’m in one of my remission periods and it’s just a coincidence that they stopped when I started the pills.
Whatever it is, I refuse to stop taking them.
I can’t take it as prescribed.
That’s two a day, and one of the side effects is dizziness.
When I take it as prescribed, I can’t function.
Come to think of it, this low‑level vertigo I live with could be from the pills, and my frequent falling could be from the low‑level vertigo.
I’d rather be slightly dizzy and fall all the time than go back to having hives.
We got our Aldi trip over with, grabbed a drink from Dutch Bros, and made it home before 3 pm.
I’ve grown to love the place, but it’s still not really coffee.
Cowboy quickly settled in his recliner to watch TV until time for evening service.
Badger grabbed a dog and a camera and headed to the backyard to bird watch.
I curled up in my room with my book.
Not a lot more can be said about the day.
Like most Sundays, Cowboy went to evening service.
Badger and I got a quick little walk in, and there was a lot of TV watching.
Just your usual Sunday.
Well, maybe not your usual Sunday.
We didn’t have Raven’s kids this weekend, so we had a clean house and no work to do.
Heron fished all day.
He got home at 7:30 pm without any fish this time.
He and Cowboy are watching TV together, and I’m going to finish this up and head to the bedroom to finish reading.
