Another chilly morning.
This is getting a little ridiculous.
We're on summer break, we're supposed to have, you know, summer.
She goes through periods where she’ll only watch one series of shows.
The last three days she discovered “Phineas and Ferb.”
She’s amazed that I not only know who Phineas and Ferb are, but also know all about the show.
I think her memory must be slipping a bit.
When it first came on TV, that’s all she and Heron would watch.
Of course, she was only five then.
On Demand only has so many episodes, so I suspect she’ll have to find a new show soon, unless she does like she did with “Davy Crockett” and finds a bunch of episodes on YouTube.
Then there was whatever she got stuck on this winter.
We all threatened to shoot the television if we heard that theme song one more time.
It had a theme song that stuck in your head forever.
So we had a really quiet, restful day until this evening.
Heron’s phone went on the blink, and he found one down in Knoxville for forty dollars.
We loaded up and hit the road and didn’t get back home until fairly late.
We got a little lost, a little mixed up, and a whole lot confused, but eventually we found the meeting place.
He got cheated.
The phone refuses to power on, so now he’s out forty dollars and still has a broken phone.
I told him he could either take it to the repair shop and see what they say about it, or do like that fellow did and stick it on Craigslist claiming it works perfectly.
We probably should’ve known something was off when the man quit answering the phone, especially after he specifically told us to call when we got on the road.
Honestly, I guess we should just be thankful he showed up at all.
Heron is understandably upset, but when you buy off Craigslist, it’s buyer beware.
We should’ve insisted on seeing the phone power on first, but the man said he’d lost the charger and the battery was dead.
Honestly, that sounded reasonable enough at the time.
I think Cowboy mostly just wanted to get out of there, so he didn’t try arguing with the man.
We were standing at a truck stop, in the dark, in an area we didn’t know, dealing with a stranger.
It’s a shame because the thing honestly looks brand new.
Then again, for all we know, it could be stolen.
Peacock finally got in touch this evening.
We texted back and forth while we were heading down the road.
He’s extremely happy with AF, and they’re getting ready to move into a new house.
I’ll have to get on Facebook and fuss at him a little to come visit instead of vanishing off the face of the earth like he tends to do.
I was honestly shocked to find out that during all those years he was out of touch with us, he was roaming all over the country.
He lived in New York for a while and has apparently been through half the states north of Tennessee.
That boy sure does get around.
It's a holiday, the tourists will be out in full force, and the traffic will probably be a nightmare.
Heron’s supposed to work for that guy from church, so he can’t go.
Badger wants to go, but Badger always wants to go.
It's supposed to be pretty tomorrow, but honestly, I'd just as soon stay home.
Cowboy would rather be on the river fishing anyway.
Days off are rare for him.
We'll see how we feel in the morning.
