I'm sweatin' like a hog

I slept like the dead until 3 a.m., when Badger woke up and scared the fire out of me.

She was just kind of hoovering in the dark doorway, and somehow or the other that snapped me awake pretty darn quick.

After that, I just kind of cat napped.
I remember looking at the clock at 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., but I managed to sleep through one heck of a storm around 6 a.m. if the neighborhood gossip is to be believed.

The sidewalk was sure wet, so it must have done something.

I was up for good at 7 a.m.
And Cowboy and Badger wonders why I'm so grouchy and hateful.
You try not sleeping through a night, then waking up, and not being able to go back to sleep at the crack of dawn.
Let's see just how sweet and perky you are.

I got the living room cleaned, the bathroom cleaned, the kitchen back together, my coffee cabinet straightened up, the hall mopped, and a load of laundry and dishes going before Cowboy and Badger were out of bed.

Oh, and a call put in to Social Security. I need direct deposit papers. They never returned my call, so that's Monday's to do.

Then, to be honest, I went back to bed. I had an hour or so nap.

Luckily, Badger has staked claim to the kitchen, and won't let me back in, so she cooked dinner while I snored.

Cowboy took the car for an oil change, got back just in time to eat and go to work.

After my nap, I folded and put away the laundry, then Badger and I just watched TV.

It's still hot out there, but not as hot as they thought it would be. They were talking about temps in the high nineties today. I guess the early morning storm kept things cool.

We did get a walk in this evening.
It was still just miserably hot. Although I think it's the humidity, not the actual temperature, that makes things so bad.

I notice that school begins August Fifth here.
That's next Thursday. They are, it looks like, maybe replacing the roof. They have construction material everywhere in the school parking lot.
Someone had better get in a hurry to finish.

Gealach's school starts August Ninth.

It seems like summer has just flown by.

We came back to watch more TV, neither of us felt like she‑shed sitting.

If and when we do actually get TennCare on Badger, I'm scheduling another allergy test for her. Specifically, on latex and adhesives.
She can't wear any kind of band‑aid without them blistering her neck.
That has to be an allergy of some kind.
Right now, she has to keep those band‑aids on for ten days.
Her neck is already getting raw, and she says it burns constantly.
I can't do a thing for her, not until she's able to go without a band‑aid.
I feel terrible for her, but I don't have a solution.

Maybe I'll go and schedule that-another Monday call.

I hate-I loathe-talking on the phone.

Wednesday is Cowboy's doctor appointment.
Badger and I will go sit in the parking lot, so he's not alone.
That is a useless appointment, it's like yeah your PSA is still elevated, but we're not going to worry.

Like his regular doctor, yeah yeah your potassium is super low and your blood pressure is super high, we think you have this condition, but we're not going to refer you to a specialist, you'll be just fine.

I'm not a huge fan of the kind of doctor's our insurance sends us to.

I'm heading to bed, Badger says I'm getting cranky.
