Bittersweet October. The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause between the opposing miseries of summer and winter

Cowboy had to go help Heron fix his truck this morning, so this left Badger and me stuck at home with nothing to do.

So, we did just that: nothing.

We took a walk around the block, watched TV, and were basically lazy.

Sometimes lazy is nice.

Cowboy came home, and loaded the trash up to take to the dump.
He came home, rushed into the bedroom, changed his shirt, and yelled at us to get in the car.

I was in the middle of a chat with Chewy.
They had delivered a package this morning, and some items were damaged.
Chewy refunded some money and replaced the damaged item.
They're a wonderful company.

But I quickly ended the chat and headed to the car.

Turns out, the neighborhood above the plant was having a neighborhood yard sale.
The problem was no one actually had anything.
We found one or two houses that threw some junk out that probably should have just been taken to the dump, and that was it.

We came home, Badger quickly cooked dinner, and before we'd turned around twice, it was time for Cowboy to go to work.

Badger took a long nap, and I watched TV.

A lot of TV.

When she woke up, she gave Duffy a bath.
It turns out that dogs actually need frequent bathing.
Who knew.
Hey, I'm a cat person, they bathe themselves.

We went outside and sat inside the she-shed for a little while.
It is nice outside today.

Badger made queso for supper, she had queso and rice, I had queso and chips.

We settled in with Halloween movies for the rest of the evening.

A nice, easy, lazy day.

Our patients are alright, tired of containment already.
I was going to free them after a week, but I was reading through veterinarian advice after neutering and spaying, and I came upon this vet from Florida who said that they need to be contained a full fourteen days.
So, I'll keep them up a full fourteen days.
They think they're being punished, but so far, they aren't yowling or fighting for freedom.

Tomorrow we're supposed to go to the Goodwill.
Badger is looking for winter clothes, and we need to stop at the Walmart.

We're running low on pee pads, I keep pee pads in the crates so that Chaos and Mayhem aren't laying on a bare, plastic floor.
I don't want to put their bed in or a blanket, I'm not taking any chances on them getting an infection.

I also need to pick up some paper litter.
Again, no chance of infection.
I don't want regular litter going where litter shouldn't go.

Unless they change their minds, Cowboy is supposed to work Sunday morning.

We have no other plans until Wednesday, when Badger goes to the gastroenterologist.
That is really a waste of time.
He didn't do anything the last time.

I guess I will get off of here, head to bed.

Other than being so high off the ground, the new mattress seems to be helping both me and Cowboy.
Neither of us has those hip and back pains as badly as we were having.
So far, neither of us have fallen out of bed, which is a very real fear.

Badger is enjoying our old mattress, she's a strange duck.
Of course, she is still too young for the aches and pains Cowboy and I have.

To Remember: Gealach's mom got married today.
