That feeling when the sun sets a little earlier, and you feel summer slipping out of reach

I always say that I write to keep up with the days—it's Tuesday, I think.
Cowboy working Sunday really threw me off track, but I'm at least partially sure it is Tuesday.

I really don't have anything to write.
Today was just another day.

Badger did go to therapy, and she and Cowboy brought pizza home for dinner.
That was a blessing because, other than the few breakfast dishes we had, that meant no cleaning the kitchen up.

Heron did get home, with the drooling dog.
She’s made to be a dog at the girlfriend’s house, and she’s always a bit sad when he brings her back here.
I have no problem with dogs in my bed or on my couch—but the girlfriend doesn’t allow it.

Heron worked, and as of 8:30 p.m., I haven't seen him yet.

I mean, you know, it's just another one of those days—Cowboy works, we sit.
Yeah, nothing exciting to write about.

Oh, we actually got rain.
It's been a while, but that cleared out fairly quickly.
The sky looks stormy again though—and it is 8:30 p.m. as I type this up.
We'll see if it rains again.

Badger and I did take a walk to the creek church.
I wanted to take some pictures for her birthday—I always try to post the most current photo of my kids I can.
I've gotten to where I just don't take pictures anymore.
She used me first to test her color settings, but discovered we have two different skin tones.
I'm a lot more ghostly than she is.
I shared one of the test pictures and told the kids to be sure to use it for my obituary.
I'm not sure if they appreciate my sense of humor.

Other than that, it was TV, TV, and more TV.
Nothing really to chronicle and keep up with.
Just trying to keep up with that slippery old time.

  1. You are funny! Obituary photo. I love your flowered leggings. Life isn't much different up here in the Northland, except our days are even shorter than yours in the winter. Which I actually don't mind at all. Whatever happened to the 'golden years'?

  2. Sandra: Thank you 😊 Those leggings are actually my Day of the Dead ones — skulls and flowers all mixed together. Perfect for an obit photo shoot, don’t you think? πŸ˜„ The short days sneak up quickly here, but I know in Minnesota you get even more darkness — and I love how you actually enjoy it. I sure wish I knew what happened to those promised ‘golden years’!
