Weather be like, “I’m hot, hot, hot!” 🔥

We got to town today.

We are seeing more masks in the stores.
We stopped at one store, and they had a sign up saying that they didn’t require a mask, but asked that you wear one.

There's no mask mandate in Jefferson County so you can go bare. Knox County has a mandate, and maybe you can’t be forced to wear one, but you sure can be asked to leave an establishment if you don’t.

Logically, as we’re equal distances from both Jefferson County and Knox County, we should just stay in Knox County to shop, but the prices are higher and Cowboy prefers Jefferson County.

We came home, got everything put up, and had dinner, which I had already cooked and had sitting in the crockpot.

By the time we had eaten, it was time for Cowboy to go to work.

Just as he was pulling out of the driveway, Heron was pulling in.

We sat outside with him and Lady for a bit.

He was going fishing, so he didn’t stay long.
His worms were cooking in the truck.

After he left, we came in and turned the television on, it was so hot outside.

The little time we were outside had Duffy panting like crazy.

We stayed in until it cooled down a little.
Then Badger took Duffy and went outside to use my she‑shed as a skating rink.
Duffy was tied to his tie‑out so he could wear himself out before bed.

I went out to check on them, and she was giving Duffy a bath with the water hose.
I think the poor dog prefers being bathed in the tub better.
It’s his first bath since his neutering, and he really needed it.

After she got Duffy bathed, she had to come in and take a shower herself.
She was sopping wet and smelled like a wet dog.

After she got out of the tub, we took a quick walk around the block.
It’s better these days to walk around 7 p.m.–8 p.m. It’s finally cooled down enough you can walk comfortably, although
it's a little spooky at night. At least now, for whatever reason, we’re finally seeing more streetlights.
We didn’t use to have very many, and it was pitch black at night. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I’ve been told that if you want a streetlight close to your house you have to pay for it yourself, which would explain a lot.

We came home and here we are.
I guess we might watch a bit of TV before bed.

Unfortunately, there are no plans for the foreseeable future.
We’ll have to come up with something to get ourselves busy with.

Oh, and Peacock and Heron are COVID-19-free, as is SK.
Peacock and SK actually got a letter in the mail, but Heron hasn’t heard or seen anything.
We’re assuming that he doesn't have COVID-19.
Otherwise, surely they would have contacted him, especially seeing that he works in a restaurant.
