I was normal 4 cats ago

Another town day come and gone.

We didn’t have time today, so I’m hoping Cowboy can go to Lowe’s tomorrow.
I’d really love an enclosed cabinet just to keep my extra coffee in.

Right now I have an open shelf, and the cats just knock everything off, which is very annoying.

Mentioning cats.

We went back to the shelter today to pick up Ebony, the fat, old cat that broke my heart when we got Annie.

They said he was picked up yesterday.

Well, we were there anyway, stuck in an entire cat house with oh, thirty or so cats.

I was talking to the shelter lady, turned around, and there was Badger, sweet-talking Jenny.

Yup.

We brought Jenny home.

Jenny is now Smudge Kate.

Smudge comes from the “Warrior Cats” book series, and Kate is from Doc Holliday’s Big Nose Kate.

All our cats have proper names, thank you very much.

Tom Hanks, Sasha Natasha, Salem Sparrow, Lucifer Michael, Annabelle Winifred, Smudge Kate, Chaos Lupin, Mayhem Ares, Bedlam Poseidon, Duff Mc Gruff, Chompers Dead Man Walking, and Turtle Myrtle.

We’re Southern.🤷

We had a female worker today.
The male worker that adopted out Annie messed up huge-big time.

The cats in the room we got Annie from are indoor/outdoor cats.
They adopt cats specifically as barn cats, so I think that room is for those types.

She said those cats would never be happy as indoor-only cats.

We’ve seen that with Annie. She’s always trying to go outside.

Smudge is an indoor-only cat.

They also messed up Annie’s age.
The lady today said the ages on the tags are just estimates from when they were taken in.

The original picture of China/Annie was from 2018.
I believe they listed her as two months old when she was actually two years old, which would make her about four now.

That explains why she’s not fitting in so well.

Smudge was placed in the shelter in September 2020 and was estimated to be about seven months old, which would have made her a year old by February.
They still have her officially listed as being born in June.

I do not think that they let the indoor cats out of their cages for any length of time, Smudge is going crazy at this big old playground of a house.

She's just enjoying having so much freedom and so many places to explore.

Annie and Sasha hiss at her, I mean they hiss at anything that moves.
The Trio hisses and bops her, but she's young enough that with time hopefully they'll accept her.

She's a playful little thing and friendly as long as you respect her boundaries.

Other than getting to know Smudge, we’ve mostly just sat around watching television.

That’s our life right now.

Until the weather warms up, there really isn’t much else to do.
