“My mother groaned, my father wept, into the dangerous world I leapt.” – William Blake

Cowboy was up and out the door before 8 a.m.
He had to take Finis somewhere first thing.

He left at 7:51 a.m. and was back home by 9:53 a.m.
He said he was surprised it didn’t take nearly as long as he expected.

Since Cowboy was home earlier than expected, I had him run me up the road to Walmart so I could grab an extra hard drive.
I’ve got my computer money saved up.
Badger said I should just buy a new computer, and that would be nice, but the computer itself isn’t what’s destroying my pictures. It’s the external hard drive.
What I really need is something to save those pictures, not a brand-new computer.
I threw off my pajamas, pulled on a pair of jeans, and we headed out.

Halfway up the road, Cowboy grumpily told us we might as well just get the weekly groceries because he wasn’t coming back out again.
Huh, great.
No list, no clue what we’re out of, just wandering the store hoping for the best.
We did the best we could, but I can almost guarantee we’ll realize we forgot something by Tuesday.
Oh well, at least the cats are taken care of.
Really, that’s what mattered most to me.
They were getting low on food, and I’d been planning to wait until after the vet visit on Monday before going out again.

After Walmart, Badger was set on trying this new sub place that had just opened up.
We drove past it, and the parking lot was already packed.
It’s a tiny lot, so that was already a problem.

Cowboy dropped us off at the door and went off to hunt for a parking spot.
We walked up and took one look inside, and it was packed wall to wall.
The line was stretched clear out the door.
Nope.
Not happening.

We headed back to the car, and Cowboy still insisted it wasn’t that full, even though he was stuck and couldn’t even get out of the space.
The whole place had us boxed in.
I finally told him to stop arguing and just wiggle us out of there.

We ended up at Taco Bell instead.
It was practically empty.

We got home at 12:45 p.m. and got everything unpacked and put away while Cowboy went out to take care of the chickens.
After lunch, Cowboy settled in for his nap, and Badger and I caught up on my Thursday shows.
The afternoon went quicker than I expected, and before I knew it, it was already time for Cowboy to head off to work.

We watched TV until about 6 p.m., or at least I did, while Badger took a nap most of the afternoon.
She’s still not feeling well.
We did take a short walk, even though I think she probably should’ve stayed in, and rested.
She insists fresh air helps her feel better, though.
We had planned to stop by the Methodist Church, but they were spraying for bugs out front, and I didn’t want to risk us still being in their way if we went around to the back.

We got back and it hit me that Heron had told me to raise the blinds for GiGi.
Well dang it, we went ahead and did it, even though it was about eight hours late. GiGi didn’t seem too bothered, so I’m calling it good.

Carport-side neighbor’s little kitten showed up again while we were out there.
Of course we stopped to give him a quick rub and some catnip before heading back inside.
I always feel a little guilty leaving him behind, but he’s not ours.

We’ve just been spending the rest of the evening on the couch watching TV.

Raven messaged me at 2:42 p.m. to say Baby Girl was on the way.
He called again at 7:22 p.m., and little Miss F.L.A. has arrived.
Mom and baby are both fine.

I didn’t ask too many questions and didn’t keep him on the phone long.
I know I was lucky to even be told at all, since SK was very firm about not telling anyone yet.
Yes, I know I’m Granny, but she still said she wasn’t even going to tell family.
Although I can about guarantee her family was already at the hospital waiting.

Anyway, I’m off here now.

My mother groaned, my father wept:
Into the dangerous world I leapt,
Helpless, naked, piping loud,
Like a fiend hid in a cloud.

Struggling in my father's hands,
Striving against my swaddling bands,
Bound and weary, I thought best
To sulk upon my mother's breast.
