A cup of coffee and a heart full of gratitude ๐Ÿ’•☕"

The tree removal crew cut the neighbors’ tree down early this morning.
It was after lunch before they started on ours, and luckily Cowboy was mostly home.
He had to go to work before they finished.
Well, they have to come back tomorrow.
They didn’t get done today.

Heron said he wouldn’t have wanted to be the men doing that for the world.
It was very windy all day, and there they were, up in a bucket, cutting branches.

Today was Badger’s appointment.
They came home with Little Caesar’s pizza and Dunkin’ coffee.
Badger didn’t feel like cooking, and she and Cowboy would rather that I not cook.

Heron worked on the she-shed flower bed all day.

I spent the day outside watching him (no, they don’t trust me with flowers either) and on the computer.
I wanted to be accessible if the tree crew finished up and needed paying.

The flower bed is a work in progress.
It’ll look much better when things begin to grow.
Right now, he just got all those dead leaves blown out and started planting.

Badger stayed in her room all day and into the evening.
She came out long enough for us to take a quick walk, and then went back.

Raven was gone until I guess 6 p.m.
He came home and went straight to bed.
He's still not got with Other Parent about the weekend.
I'd guess that more, or likely she'll send them down.
That complicates us cooking.
We have so little space to cook in, and the kids insist on running in and out under our feet.

Actually, I haven't got with Peacock. He may not even come up for Easter.

I'm not doing Easter baskets, either. I always do baskets, but I'm not feeling it this year.

The ants have returned.
As if they speak English, I’ve let them know: the first one I find floating in my coffee, I call the exterminator back.
They’re not content to stay in the kitchen this year.
Nope, they’re in every room of the house.
We even have them in the car.

I guess ants are better than roaches or stink bugs or spiders.
I still don’t want them in my coffee, taking a morning swim.

Then again, I’m sitting here typing, and one of the little boogers is calmly walking up my hand.
I have itchy eyes ’cause of allergies, and I just know I’m going to rub my eyes one day, and an ant comes walking down my eyelashes.

I guess I’ll head to bed.
Who knows when the tree service will show up in the morning.
