Happy Summer Solstice!
Well, it was a nothing day.
It was the same old morning routine.
It was the same old Cowboy heading to work at 2:30 P.M.
It was the same old evening and night routine.
Absolutely nothing ever changes around here.
Badger’s in a cranky mood, so she’s been holed up in her room.
I’ve been alone, left to entertain myself.
I’ve seen way too much Blogger, and a few too many “find me a house in Alaska” shows.
And I've gotten so desperate, I'm reading a terrible mystery series with two points of view, one of which is a magical freaking cat.
Raven, or the ex-wife, is still angry with me.
He's not brought the kids down again.
I think it's been a month since we've seen them.
I miss their chattering.
I miss seeing them, but I really do not miss having to live with them from Friday night to Sunday night.
I am enjoying quiet mornings, and no messes to clean up.
If we could compromise: bring them down to see us, but take them back home before night, I could live with that.
Cowboy thinks we’ll be getting them again before long.
It will be so hard to have to go back to that routine we had in place for their visitation.
You know, dogs and cats locked up for three days, everything locked down or hidden.
The tantrums and the constant noise.
And they'll have to go back to sleeping in the living room.
You can want to see the children without wanting to live with the children.
