What do you do when you're thirty minutes early for your appointment?
You take two laps around a duck pond, and talk to the ducks.
The duck pond is directly across from the medical office, you walk down a hill, cross a road, and there you go.
It was not too pretty this morning.A man fishing there said normally they'll put algae-killing enzymes in the pond that clear up the water.
There was also one entire section of the loop I had to hold my nose, the smell was just disgusting.
Having raised them, I've found ducks to be nasty, so maybe it was just them I was smelling.
Scuzzy water, and foul, perhaps that should be fowl, odor aside, it was a nice way to kill some time.
Cowboy has always insisted on being early for appointments, and I understand traffic on the interstate is totally unpredictable.
But as he gets older, he gets earlier and earlier for appointments.
He thinks he can go in for a medical appointment at any time, and they'll just take him on back.
I
told him life didn't work that way, if your appointment is at 11 a.m.,
showing up at 10:30 a.m. isn't going to get you taken back.
It just takes up valuable waiting room space, and annoys the crap out of the staff.
Badger and I managed to kill twenty minutes, and get a little exercise in.
I headed to the office at 10:50 a.m., they say arrive fifteen minutes early, but I'm perfectly fine with ten minutes.
We weren't in the waiting room any time before Badger got called back, they let me go back in with her.
The ultrasound took no time at all either.
It was pretty fascinating seeing blood flow through her leg, and the
sound, one leg was almost like a whale call the other more like a
machine gun.
I'm writing this late at night.
We've had no phone call, and nothing is up on the patient portal, so I'm saying no news is good news.
We made it home at noon, Badger and I went down to the RV to make sure the cats had air conditioning going.
Badger turned it on, but we had to get Cowboy to shut the window.
It's just really hard to shut, and we forgot to close the vent above the bed.
Cowboy did a little bit of shuffling cars around.
Heron came in Monday or Tuesday or heck maybe last week I can't
remember, he left his truck with the trailer attached parked slightly in
the road and blocking our sidewalk.
So Cowboy grabbed the keys, got the truck out of the road, and backed away from the sidewalk.
Then he moved the black car over, giving us one extra space for another car.
Cowboy's work truck stays in the carport, which if you ask me the red car should be in there not the ratty truck but whatever.
Then he sat down with his newspaper until 1 p.m.
He likes to check the obituaries.
I'm fairly certain he's not in them just yet.
He finally went out to take care of his chickens and gather eggs.
I'm pretty sure he brought another pit chicken home last night.
One more chicken and I'm finding a chickens anonymous support group for him.
Although I guess I could look at it as if the world ever goes completely
to hell we can live on chicken for a while, eggs and meat.
Badger got dinner cooked, she and I ate then we went to watch TV until Cowboy went to work.
After Cowboy left, we gave the house a quick tidy up, started the first of many, many loads of laundry. Oh come on, who likes doing laundry? We've been ignoring it and now Badger and I were getting awfully close to being naked.
Then Badger headed outside for a while, she finished up the last of the picnic table bird feeders.
I mostly end up playing my games on the computer.
Once she finished she came inside, headed to her room.
She's been trying to edit a ton of pictures.
I think she got bored, she took the dogs, took her camera and headed to the backyard until 8:30 p.m. when she came in, and we watched a movie.
Of course in between movie and game we were putting away laundry and putting more loads in
Without the motivation of having Raven's kids here all weekend, we sometimes let the laundry pile up.
Badger is a cleaning tornado, so the house itself is clean, we just lack the oomph to keep up with laundry.
At 10 pm we headed to the backyard for star pictures then it was back to finish up our movie.
Badger's not feeling really well so she's spending the night on the couch.
Tomorrow is Carl's veterinarian appointment, and I've got to remember to call him by his formal name, Bedlam.
I think he's Bedlam, pretty sure of it.
We had Mayhem, who we called Teresa.
He's crossed the rainbow bridge.
Then Chaos, who we call Skunk.
Then Bedlam, who we call Carl.
Don't even ask.
It's bedtime, the movie is over and we actually finished it. I think we've been watching bits and pieces of it for a few days now.

Well, hello! You show up in my feed in a hit and miss way. The only organized thing I still have in my life is laundry on Monday. Again. wonderful photos. Hopefully you got good news about Badger.
Sandra: Hey, it is good to see you here.
I think Blogger might be tired of me. I have been putting up old posts from several old blogs, and I may have overwhelmed it. I think it just gave up trying to update my feed.
We probably need to be like you and have a set day for laundry. We are way too good at ignoring it.
My daughter's results came back normal, which is a relief, but it still leaves the mystery of what is going on with her.
Thank you. I will tell my daughter you liked her pictures.
I hope you have a good Sunday.
