I keep checking on my Mother’s Day bush to make sure it’s still alive.
With the temperatures we’ve been having, I wasn’t too sure it wouldn’t just dry up and die.
Our ground is all cracked and dry.

One thing about a skater, they never quit, so a skater to sum it up is awesome

Well, Badger managed to get her butt out in a decent time today, but the SRO grounded me.

Yup.

I asked if I could go inside to warm up.
Even though it was nearly 60° today, I was still cold.
He said I could but made it clear I wasn’t allowed into the main school building and had to stay in the entryway.

Whatever.

Why can't the house clean itself, it seems to get dirty by itself

I spent the day cleaning house and doing laundry.
I have no clue how a house can get so messy with only two adults and an almost-child living in it.
At least keeping the house clean and staying on top of the laundry is much easier with just the three of us than it was when there were six.

I have to admit, I kind of miss all the dirt, mess, and noise.
I'm really not enjoying the empty nest all that much.

Badger and I walked the two miles to the Dollar Store (and back) in the heat yesterday, then Raven and his girlfriend took us up to Morristown for window shopping.

It was hot.
They blasted their music so loud the car was shaking, and with both of them smoking like chimneys, by the time we got back I had such a terrible headache I just went straight to bed.

I'm a beautiful disaster

Today was a much better day, thank goodness. I decided that what would be would be and forced myself to chill out. I sat in the car and sent Raven. I told him to deal with it today.

Chill autumn night — blankets, a movie, and pizza. Perfect

First day back to school and what does it do?
Yup, it pours down.
It did stop by three, but the wind was whipping and it was cold.
Well, maybe not cold‑cold, but it sure wasn’t shorts and T‑shirt weather.
I was shivering, which isn’t unusual for me if the temps drop below sixty.
Luckily, my little snail, Badger, managed to get her butt out of the school fairly quick this evening.
I think she was ready to head home and relax for a while.

Another chilly morning. This is getting a little bit ridiculous. We’re on summer break. We’re supposed to have, you know, summer.

I think I’ve got a new reason to dislike the holidays.
School is out, and Romeo and Juliette are keeping my computer running hot.
They’re on Skype all the time.

Army basic wasn’t finished, but my love and pride are endless. ❤️

Little Napoleon let the walkers go with the car riders again today.  Badger said they got in such a hurry they forgot to call daycare.  I’m telling you, the man is dead set on proving me wrong.  He’s bound and determined to say walkers have always been dismissed at 3:05 p.m., come hell or high water.

I was up at 6:30 a.m. this morning so that we could leave the house by 8 a.m. to get Raven to the airport on time.

His plane was scheduled to leave at 11 a.m., but it came in at 10:48 a.m., and he was in the air before 11 a.m., so it was a good thing we left a little early.

A little goofing off is good for the soul

I just really noticed the date.

We gained a new month while we were out "roughing it."

I can't believe it's already September.
