Badger and I thought we were being smart.
We got up early, cleaned the house, and had everything ready for the exterminator before 10.
But 10 came and went, and by 10:30, still no exterminator.
He had been very clear: the appointment was set for the Friday after Thanksgiving, which is today.
At 11, I called the office, only to be told, “Oh, it’s scheduled for Tuesday.”
I explained that the technician had said Friday after Thanksgiving, and I’d received no communication from their office to correct it.
“Oh, I’ll send it over to the main office. We’ll reschedule for December 12, and I’ll tell them you’re still not hearing from them.”
In other words, nothing was going to be done.
It was clearly my fault; I should have called on Wednesday to confirm.
It’s obvious they’re never going to call, text, or email.
I have no complaints about their service, just their communication, or lack of it.
I knew going in that there were a lot of complaints about miscommunication, so that’s on me.
One of Badger’s and my jobs now is making sure Heron’s cats are in the RV when he’s at work or at his girlfriend’s.
In the summer we have more time, but in winter we have to go down as soon as Cowboy leaves for work.
Once the cats were put away, we came back to the house, and Badger went straight to her room.
With Heron at work, Raven at the other parent’s, and Badger in her room, the cats and I had the place to ourselves.
Badger didn’t come back out until nearly 7 p.m.
I spent the time on the computer, reading, and enjoying the quiet.
Badger and I spent the evening watching a strange movie.
Now that it’s over, I think we’re ready to call it a night.
We were up early this morning.
As far as I know, we’re still set to head to Morristown tomorrow.
Badger has her list ready: first the camera shop, then 5 Below, and finally the mall.
There’s a new coffee shop there we’re both curious to try.
