I had a rough night.
I slept fine until the wind chimes woke me up at 3 a.m.
With everyone around here having chimes, it sounded like they were all going at once.
I checked the clock, felt the cold bed, and realized Cowboy still wasn’t home.
I opened the bedroom door, saw Raven’s door shut, so I checked the camera.
He’d already gone to work.
I curled up with my phone and scrolled Instagram and Facebook.
The wind was really high, so I stayed awake in case it turned into a storm.
Cowboy made it home at 4 a.m., but after his shower it was closer to 4:30 a.m. before he finally stumbled into bed.
It felt like only minutes, but it was almost 6 a.m. when my weather radio started squawking and my phone started ringing.
Weather alerts call me whenever we get one.
I shut everything off and dozed back off.
As far as I know, we never got a storm, just really high winds and maybe some rain.
I crept out to the living room at 8:30 a.m., still pretty bleary-eyed.
Heron was already up and getting ready for work.
He lives full-time in his RV, but with no working kitchen or bathroom, he comes up here to shower, cook, and keep his clothes.
Badger woke up around 9 a.m.
She might’ve been awake earlier but just wasn’t ready to leave her warm bed.
Raven came home from work, grabbed his things, and left at 11:15 a.m.
As I’m writing this, it’s well past 11 p.m., and I still half expect him and the kids to show up.
He’s supposed to be staying at the other partner’s house all weekend, though.
Cowboy finally came out of the bedroom just a little before noon.
I sat with him while he ate his breakfast, but I got to where I couldn’t keep my eyes open, so I went in and took a nearly two-hour nap.
I felt a lot better when I woke up.
Badger cooked us a quick but tasty dinner, so I ate and went back to bed.
I was watching TV this time, though.
Time for Cowboy to head to work came rather quickly.
There isn’t much more to say.
Badger took the dogs out for a good long while, and I played on the computer.
When she came back in, we watched TV the rest of the evening.
Mostly we enjoyed a quiet house, no mess, and being able to sit somewhere other than our bedrooms, which isn’t usual for a Friday.
I wanted Cowboy to have a restful weekend, but unless they change their minds, he has to work his regular shift Sunday night.
At least he can rest all day Saturday.
They’d better not work him over on Sunday.
He has a bright and early doctor appointment Monday, and it’s a fasting appointment.
He’d better remember that.
He eats supper between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. when he’s working.
We got Cowboy’s biopsy results today.
No cancer, thankfully, but they did find two abnormal spots.
They’ll talk about it more at his March appointment.
I think I’m going to head to bed.
Nap or not, I’m still sleepy.
