Snooze mode: activated

I had a rough night.
I slept well until the wind chimes woke me up at 3 a.m.
It seems like nearly every house in the area has wind chimes, and they were all ringing at once.
I checked the clock, felt the cold bed, and realized Cowboy still wasn’t home.

I opened the bedroom door and saw Raven’s door was shut, so I checked the camera.
He’d already gone to work.
I curled up with my phone and looked through Instagram and Facebook.
The wind was really strong, so I stayed awake in case it turned into a storm.

Cowboy made it home at 4 a.m., but after his shower it was closer to 4:30 before he finally got into bed.
It felt like no time had passed at all, but it was almost 6 a.m. when my weather radio started squawking and my phone went off.
They alert me whenever there’s a weather warning.
I turned everything off and went back to sleep.
As far as I know, we never got a storm, just really strong winds and maybe some rain.

I came out to the living room at 8:30 a.m., still half asleep.
Heron was already up and getting ready for work.
He lives full‑time in his RV, but since the kitchen and bathroom don’t work, he comes up here to shower, cook, and keep his clothes.
Badger woke up around 9.
She might’ve been awake earlier but wasn’t ready to leave her warm bed.

Raven came home from work, grabbed his things, and left around 11:15 a.m.
It’s way past 11 p.m. now, and part of me still keeps expecting him and the kids to show up, even though I know they’re supposed to be at the other parent’s house all weekend.

Cowboy finally came out of the bedroom a little before noon.
I sat with him while he ate his breakfast, but I got to where I couldn’t keep my eyes open, so I went in and took a nearly two-hour nap.
I felt a lot better when I woke up.

Badger cooked us a quick but tasty dinner, so I ate and went back to bed.
I was watching TV this time, though.

Time for Cowboy to head to work came quickly.

There’s not much to say.
Badger took the dogs out for a good long while, and I played on the computer.
When she came back in, we watched TV the rest of the evening.
Mostly we just enjoyed a quiet house and no mess, and actually sitting somewhere besides our bedrooms, which doesn’t happen often on a Friday.

I wanted Cowboy to have a restful weekend, but unless they change their minds, he has to work his regular shift Sunday night.
At least he can rest all day Saturday.
They’d better not keep him over on Sunday.
He has a bright and early doctor appointment Monday, and it’s a fasting appointment.
He’d better remember that.
He eats supper between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. when he’s working.

We got Cowboy’s biopsy results today.
No cancer, thankfully, but they did find two abnormal spots.
They’ll talk about it more at his March appointment.

I think I’m going to head to bed.
Nap or not, I’m still sleepy.
