Cowboy got to work, Heron got to work, and Raven’s kids made it home.
They said the roads were fine, which surprises me because it never got out of the twenties and we almost never have clear roads the day after a snow like this.
They must have really worked hard salting and plowing overnight to get things that clear.
The back roads and side roads are still a mess, though.
I don’t think any county is having school tomorrow.
It’s going to warm up to nearly fifty on Tuesday, so they’ll probably be able to go back then.
After the kids left, Badger told me to stay out of her way, and then she cleaned the house.
It wasn't a total mess for once, although she still found food in some strange places.
For some reason known only to her, she also cleaned the edges of the room and pulled up all the very ancient staples in the corners.
That’s how the afternoon went, Badger cleaning, me playing on the computer, and a TV movie about Bruce Springsteen playing in the background.
We just enjoyed the quiet house.
Heron got home from work just before 4 p.m., came in, said he was tired, and went out to his RV to lay down.
I haven’t seen him since.
Cowboy came home at 6 p.m., we ate supper, and for once he and I watched TV together.
Badger and Raven were in their rooms.
The movie is off, so I’m heading to bed. I have a book I want to read a bit in before I go to sleep.
