Cowboy got home at 6:43 a.m., which meant he was working a fifteen-hour shift.
He worked nearly a thirteen-hour shift on Thursday.
He woke up just a little before noon, ate his breakfast, took his medication, and went back to sleep.
He slept until 6 p.m., when I woke him up for supper.
He ate supper and went back to sleep until 10:30 p.m., when he got a snack and finally turned his TV on.
They say a prostate biopsy can cause fatigue for days afterward.
Factor in his age and the fact that he’s doing hard physical work, and it’s no surprise he crashed today.
Then he goes back to work tomorrow, regular shift.
Badger stayed in her room all day.
She was organizing her room again.
I divided my time between playing on the computer, watching TV in my room, and reading.
You can't say that it was a fun, entertaining day.
It was more like a slow, quiet rest day.
Sometimes those aren't so bad.
Badger finally had enough of the house and went skating.
I was enjoying the quiet house when she sent me a text to meet her at the school.
She said I needed to get out of the house too.
So, I walked over, and we took a short walk just to get some fresh air.
We came home and ate supper.
Badger made an amazing lasagna.
She headed back to her room, and I played on the computer all evening.
Well, I say play, but I'm organizing my design files.
They're a jumble, and I can't find anything when I need them.
I'm heading to bed, though.
Cowboy and I have been sharing a bed since 1990.
When he's not home, I don't sleep well.
I'm used to that extra furnace, and his snoring.
Then, of course, my anxiety kicks in, and every pop of the house could be someone trying to break in.
Cowboy's not been getting his sleep, and I've not been really getting my sleep.

Anyone who makes an amazing lasagna is a star in my book! Does Cowboy have to work this shift? It is brutal. Quiet, restful day can be a blessing.
Sandra: My daughter is getting to be a really amazing cook 😊
My husband is a second shift maintenance worker. When something breaks at night he has to stay to repair it. The way I understand, there are only two maintenance workers for second shift and one for third shift, so second shift will stay to help third shift.
I'm not sure as the plant has sold and they're changing everything, but in the past he had a company phone and he was on call 24/7 365. It was not unusual for him to work a 20-22 hour shift.
It was brutal when he was younger and it's even more so now that he's aging.
Quiet restful days are really a blessing.
